Painting my VFR with cans any advice
Hey guys i bought some Suzuka 8 hour fairings from eBay and a one piece tail unit as well.
They are in a shabby condition but i have the front looking good and gonna start on the rear during the week.
Can anyone correct me if the below is incorrect!
I couldn't sand back to the gel cos there was too much paint so i keyed it best i could and sanded down all the rough bits.
Sprayed on white primer which worked wonders on little imperfections and gave it a rub down with wet 1200 paper which was great, surface is really smooth and almost gloss.
Moving onto painting soon so planning on few coats of top coat, light rub over with wet 1200,lacquer,rub down and then another coat of lacquer.
Is that correct?
I also want to do a graphic like Guess Who's so do i paint on the color first then the white coat OR the graphic on top of the paint.
Also can anyone recommend a tape to use,i have used standard masking tape in the past but the end result was very poor.
Thanks for reading!!

Not sure about the graphics but the paint sounds correct, the key with cans is taking your time.
I plan on doing the same once I have repaired my panels so would be interested in how you get on and some pics.
best of luck.

3M do a fineline masking tape which is really good, as for your graphics id apply the white base colour first then the graphic weather you paint it or use vinyl and then laquer over the top of it all

With the cans put them in hot water they spray better with more air pressure.
