The current forks are going to let it down   As much as I'd like some swish upside down ones, I simply can't afford it at the mo.

The fork oil was changed a few months ago and a load of sludge came out. The haynes reccomended was put in.

My mate who is working on the bike at the mo says they are dreadful now and is suprised they got through the MOT

This is what he said this evening...

'there's still the issue of your forks which really need sorting, but that's not gonna be cheap. If you were someone that rode like a twat, you wouldn't be picking the bike up till they were done put it that way... for pottering about on you'll be ok, but you really have NO damping at all in the fork legs so PLEASE, make new cartridges a priority'

So, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated best place for cartridges, cost etc and any other ideas that doesn't cost alot  I've spent so much on the bike recently the budget is zero

why not refurb them with new bushes and seals and a rick oliver fork upgrade kit which is probably the best spend you'll ever put on your bike . the kit comes with new springs spacers race spec oil and a measuring tool for precise oil levels. whole lot prob cost just over :?: £100 a massive difference for not a lot of dosh  rick is a forum member contact him and i am sure he will get you the parts you req to get them sorted, as you said your budgets zilch at moment but you have made a lovely job of your bike so far it would be well worth doing when you come into some cash later.
