I haven't checked the link but I have used brake seals from "Nikone" they have been a perfect fit & given years of perfect service.
But then 9/10 I reuse the existing seals during a rebuild wink:

I've never bought new ones either, but i always rebuild the caliper before it get that bad. But wait till you got the pistons out the caliper then see if you need new ones. If your in no rush theres no point in throwing money away in buying new one if there not needed.

I know it's technically not right but everything gets a thorough inspection & replaced if I'm not 100%

Anyway, what's all this about siezed pins ffs.......
lube the feckers to death on assembly & just give 'em a very gentle nip up. Never had one stuck yet

Phil - I always do just that, and the buggers still stick pretty hard after a few months!!

Okay so i managed to only remove one piston.. the other one did not move, not even when i stopped the other piston with a piece of wood and pumped the brake. it just wont move what so ever.... here are some pics of the removed piston, there are some small pitting on it i tried to take it as best as i could. here are high resolution pictures.

Not got much chance of saving that stuck piston, should have stood on your rear brake to get it to move.

Were you keeping the fluid reservoir topped up while you were pumping them out?


Best bet now is a good pair of pliers/mole grips and brute force

yeah i was topping it up all the time. ive tried everything, stood on the brake waited for a bit. and nothing, it wont even move by a millimeter. there was absolutely no way that the piston was gonna move. im going to buy some mole grips and try as best as i can not to damage the piston.

To be honest if that piston was as stuck as you say, you'll be very very lucky not to damage it getting it out.

Unless you put the other one back in, chuck a bit of whatever to jam it in and use an airline to blast the other out.

Instead of buying a set of mole grips why dont you buy the proper tool and remove it without damaging it???
