how do i unflood? i removed the plugs and cranked it like that, but i cant see any fluids come out of the plug holes.

Did you sort the fuel tap? Are you confident that the float heights are set right,

Post the carbs plugs and cdi to me and ill check them all and set the carbs to the right height etc

im going back on my word...the bike is NOT running.. it did when i installed the new battery for a good 2-3 minutes, just got back from the garage to test it again and it would not start!

i have also found my old CDi which i thought i had thrown away.... can anyone test both of my CDI's and 4 of my spark plugs to see if they are okay? it would be a great help. il pay the postage.

more info... i have spark on all HT leads, and on all 4 plugs. i am alo getting fuel on all the carbs, i have checked them by undoing the screw under the float bowl and fuel does comes out.

all that happens is that, it feels like its going to start, its coughing a few times etc but its not catching on.

As cammo said, youve either flooded the plugs or / and your battery isnt charged up enough to give good crank and spark.

Did you ever buy a new battery as your having problems with it

yeah, i bought a new battery, it arrived today, added the electrolyte, followed the instructions, let it fully charge, and then tried it. it started first but was very hard to get it to start, and now it wont start. the battery is currently on an oxford oximiser 900 getting charged up. i will send the carbs, CDI's and the plugs to Ricky and see if anything is wrong with them. my biggest bet is the plugs are gone.

My 2p worth is that the repeated starting and stopping without letting the bike run up to temp has flooded the plugs. This doesn't nescecerily mean they are F****d, but they will be strugling to fire as designed and will need cleaning up to work properly again. You have to let the bike get up to temp when running it - or you will do this to the plugs every time.

Clean up the plugs, charge up the battery and then try again. my betting is that it will fire up. When it does leave it to get up to temp and it should still start again next time. Get it MOT'd then take it for a good long (steady) run to shake it down and blow out any cobwebs. They are designed to be run, and that is when they are happiest.

Take plugs out, give them a good wire brush, wipe them and dry them out with a blow torch until the tips of the electrodes are glowing a bit. Try putting them back in while they are still slighty warm. I'd put money on it would fire up (well maybe 50p). Maybe even do the back two cos there easier to get at.
Oh and if your battery is taking a hammering, put some jump leads on it to a car. That'll help crank it over a bit quicker.

and, to the other comments, i will wire brush them properly and get them torched and put it in while they are still warm. and see if itl start. and post the results here. if it dont, then i will take cabrs off and package cdi's and plugs and everything and send it to Ricky. for a checkup
