lmao ah wel least your giving it ago. after posting last night i decided to ring about to see how much a paint job would cost. told um what i wanted 2003 HRC colours (red with black honda wing) asked 3 different companys cheapest was 1100 and the most expensive was 1600 1600 focking quid 1100 was bad enough but 1600 even dick tearpin wore a mask.
and as for value i seem to see alot of nc's with tyga body kits which look like they were built in a dark room by a blind bloke go for over 3k.
anywho any chance you could post some pics of that pipe work for your system

Thunderace. I have nothing against modifying a bike.

Rileys bike looked fantastic. One of my fave NC30's was the white and grey one custom schemed by a member on here i forget now, but it looked very very good.

Buying plastics and rattle-cans left right and centre when posting up threads to say the bike doesn't work right?

Everythings done as a rushed job, the lines on the paint arn't even straight. A bit of patience makes all the difference.







It's only some guys on the internet giving criticisim anyway so don't take it too much to heart. If your happy with it then thats all that matters.

All I suggest (rather harshly) is to take some more time over it and plan properly.. a template for the side panels would have had them both identical... simple things will make the world of difference to your bike.

And if all you want is something that looks new, rather than creating a one off special, why not consider a newer bike? With the amount you'll spend on paint, panels and exhausts and things you'll be close to the cost of a CBR600F sport, which will run rings around the NC30, it's also FI so much easier to start and run, no plugs for you to kill. It also looks modern too

i dont have an underseat system mate, the k-conversion tail unit i bought is an underseat unit, but it never came with the underseat exhaust and pipe work. hence why im waiting on my regular undertray for the tail unit to arrive.

dude the lines dont look straight on the pics because the image is out or perspective and the FACT that there are many slopes and pumps on the damn fairings. ive mentioned this a million times. use your head. if you are meaning not straight as in, the line "curves" as its going up or down, then yes.. i did that deliberately its MEANT to have a slight curve... but is NOT squint.

but yes i do agree it was a rushed job, and thats my mistake learned.. first time painting, i should have known better... and by the way, the bike does work right, there is absolutely no more problems apart from the starter motor clicking. which i still need to inspect... the bike is 100% road worthy and risk free.. as ive mentioned in my other post... dont start this again...

And yep.. patenice! Take your time Your bike will look much better for it.

As I mentioned above, as long as your happy thats all that matters.

As for the starter.. yep for now.. that could be starter motor, an electrical problem manifesting itself or worn teeth on the starter clutch gear.

There old bikes though, and it sounds like yours had a lot of neglect before you had it (steering head bearings were an example of this)

As you ride it this year you might find more things need replacing (this has happened on every bike i've ever brought thats been old)

As an example (this might not apply to your bike but will give you an idea)

To replace the rear wheel bearings is going to cost you around 100gbp.

Chain and sprockets are another 100gbp, tyres will be aroud 250

So thats 450 just to put tyres, chain and rear bearings on the bike.

Things add up fast, and as you mention your on a limited budget so i'd be careful about spending it all on plastics.

You havn't had the bike that long either, you might soon grow tired of it.

I speak from experience, been there before. Spent a long time restoring and painting up a bike I brought only to sell it 6 months after for a big loss, nothing wrong with the bike at all I was just bored with it.

Some advice for the future would be to keep the bike for at least 12 months before messing with it, see if it's something you want to keep and invest in, after-all the plastics and stuff won't be adding any money to the bike, if anything with the NC30 making it worth less to many buyers, so it's for your own benefit.

If you dont' keep the bike for a long time then it's all really for nothing.
