Cant be that hard to make 1 good motor out of the 2, its just the cost of gaskets etc and the ball ache of doing it.

Well.. I have got the price list from Chris @ Dynopro - it is salty business and looking at a grand basic..so no big bore!
The bike that will live is no9 - It will be mainly in spirit as I am going to reframe it and get the reg transferred over.
no136 might live again if I feel the skills and the motivation to rebuild it - it is sitting as half a chassis now and has the best std shock in it that I have ever used. might use that while myRS250 gets sorted or I'll have a look at the CBR shock too.
To be frank, I cannot be arsed with a project - those days are gone. I want to have it all now..but have to be realistic and resign myself to doing it properly over the winter and making sure I get a bike sorted that works!
So, engine first, run it and see how it likes it.

You feeling the skills Chris? Have you just got a nice workshop by anychance?
I'll be stripping the three motros I have down - seeing what I have and having a tinker. might take you up on some REM related goodness as I'll want a nice gearbox - no9 always had a jump out of 5th that scared me.

Do it mate with mr haynes to hand you can't really go wrong, get the crank balanced while your at it some new crank shells and fresh o rings all round, don't bother with rods and stuff as that's when things get really pricy.
It's all I'm doing and with any luck when I'm done I'll have a reasonably trick motor with a medium amount of tune and I'll learn shit loads in the process.
