The Cosworths have always been more expensive than the rest. Their quality is really noticable when you hold them side-by-side. We experienced so many problems with the rest of the vendors we worked with, we decided to "bite the bullet" as we say and pay the big bucks for something we know we don't have to worry about. Carrillo rods, the same thing. When you have a $10,000.00 engine, it just takes one little thing to go wrong to really ruin your whole day - or entire race season (just ask Mike Lohmeyer).

I have been running Cosworth since 1987, in my CBR600F-1 and have never ever ever had a problem with them. In fact, that CBR600F-1 is STILL RUNNING!!!!! I can't say that about any other piston maker in the world that I have used. So, yeah we paid a lot, but I know I can sleep at night ;) I'm not saying Omega is not good. I have never seen or used them. So, I am anxious to see how they turn out.

good on the fourm for sourcing this...
but seems like a waste of cash unless your really going for a title
to the road riders wanting bling...be weary of running probs
to the racers...good luck,i will follow the out come of the big bores,if its reliable,i may look into it.
but more than likely,race a 600 or 250gp

See how it goes, dont think it will be a waste of cash, they should be better quality than the 20 year old 30000 mile ones in there at the moment.250GP that will be a lesson in spending cash.Piston life measured in hours, cranks every few meetings.Good luck with that one.

At least Bemsee will allow +1mm overbore so legal there.

I want some in my road motor..so 57mm for me ;)

Not sure what EMRA would say - wonder if any of the kwaks or Yams are already running a +.5 or +1?

Shall we ask a few clubs Mark? Phil Poulden at Bemsee was who I rang.Just so we dont all ring the same person at once.Geoff Kirby said at the Manx last year we could have it in writing.
