Honestly I thought it would too but it goes quickly! Just make a list of stuff you need to do that can be done with one hand. I kept myself busy by organising my garage, primer painting my engine and that kinda thing.

just had to give away a 4 grand contract too of plastering work starting next week! be lucky to make 50 quid a week as a drink for the job, price was tight as it was.

hand is still fked, no fun sitting round all day, nout to do. so fired up the old girl earlier to check for any issues, she seems to have formed a coolent leak!! hmmm, its coming from what looks like the water pump cover..... am i right in thinking this is just an o-ring!? not a gasket....

also, noticed after 10mins on idel i have no life on my temp gauge, are these 2 things linked you recon?? i followed the wireing from the temp gauge to see if id plugged it back in, but got lost in a mess of wires then it entered a main box part of the loom..... the dash and lights all work though.... how can i check my temp gauge?? is there a temp sensor earth i can plant on the live somewhere? to check its working?

or does it sound like my water pump is chuffed?? rads are hot as fook but no life on the temp gauge and a small leak from the pump gasket... ??

Water pump is an o-ring, rick o has them. As for the other stuff, I'll leave to someone else to answer

cherrs mate, i thought it might be an o-ring, just worried if i take the pump out it might be interconected to the motor oil!? is there a way to check the pumps working?? can i just remove cover and turn the bike over? see if it spins?

I recently took my water pump cover off when I did my rad flush due to ham fisted me snapping off the head of the drain bolt on it.
The main pump is driven from the engine and the main pump body has its own o-ring seal so no oil will come out.
You could turn the engine over and it should spin, but obviously you'll have to drain the cooling system so don't fire the engine!

I'd take the cover off and inspect your o-ring first.
When I left my bike idle for a while the temp shot up, but that could be to do with the fact my old lower rad was caked in shit. But when I revved the engine it seemed to send the temp down a bit on the gauge, so I don't know.

alright mate ta. if i can rule out the pump blades then it will be much better, as i recon if thats alright its just the gauge connections that are duff and the pump cover o-ring.

is there a way i can check the gauge works? by shorting the connector out on the frame or somin?and if so, which wire do i need to unplug....

Not really clued up on electrics. But I do know that the temp sender will be a resistance sensor type thing.

What I'd do is take out the temp sender (if you have a haynes manual it should tell you where it is, or use the honda owners manual, which I believe is on here in the document library?) and put it in some boiling water whilst still attached to the temp gauge and see if it moves accordingly.
