When the rear's jacked up it leans at dangerous angles using the 30 sidestand, the 29 stand is longer and it sits nicely. I much preferred using vfr carbs at the track, they give a fair bit better top end whack I reckon, especially when you run a setup where you're trying to get as much air in there as possible. I thought that the rvf carbs didn't pick up as well as the bigger vfr carbs after gear changes at high rpm. The reason i ask is that i have both sets (nc30 and 35) modded to run open airbox but unsure which to run on my track bike.
The rvf carbs are nice for around town as the power delivery is a lot more linear - because of that they feel less powerful than vfr carbs (though the power difference on a road setup is negligible I reckon). The rvf carbs make the bike feel a bit more refined, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on your personal preferences.
