Did you swap it more than once to confirm it wasn't a coincidence?

and to confirm my point, after installing the new CDI and firing up the bike with no problems. i went and changed it back, and nothing... 0 spark, it just cranked and cranked....and i changed back, and voila it worked again.
So. Does the bike work as it should or not? We seem to be getting off topic here. If it doesn't then my money is on a bad connection in the loom. Either trace and repair or replace with a known working one. Either way, for the love of sanity get it done before this thread reaches 100 pages of shit.

speedy, yes i did try it more than once.
and thunderace, the bike is working right now, but im going to try and trace it back to see if i can find any problems with the wiring and or connections.

Have you ridden the bike at high speed with this new ignition box yet?
If it died at high speed the first thing that comes to mind is overcharging (failed regulator) killing the ignition unit.
The second is an electrical short that killed it (shitty wiring)
Its highly unlikely it just died while running, so unless you figured out why it went pop then it may happen again next time your out.
Coupled with all the symptoms youve mentioned I still think you have shitty wiring somewhere and a bad connection.
If this is what indeed killed your first igniton box and not overcharging then it might happen again if the same fault arises.

i have ridden the new CDI during high speed, but it wasnt for long. my bet its on the shitty wiring or a shitty connection, i have the cbr125 reg/rec which is i think, better than the oem nc30 ones?

itll be the same shit inside, but the heat sync fins are larger and will disapate the heat better i was one of the first to test them on here, and look like a very good subsitute over OEM & the aftermarket patern parts.

im going back on my word...the bike is NOT running.. it did when i installed the new battery for a good 2-3 minutes, just got back from the garage to test it again and it would not start!
i have also found my old CDi which i thought i had thrown away.... can anyone test both of my CDI's and 4 of my spark plugs to see if they are okay? it would be a great help. il pay the postage.
more info... i have spark on all HT leads, and on all 4 plugs. i am alo getting fuel on all the carbs, i have checked them by undoing the screw under the float bowl and fuel does comes out.
all that happens is that, it feels like its going to start, its coughing a few times etc but its not catching on.
