Re: Carbon question.......
Left hand side mould take off the swing arm now.... It needs a light sanding to remove the marks and imperfections and then a really good polishing now but will be ready to make parts from next week...

The outside of the mould is finished apart from a bit of trimming to size and is lovely and smooth so no sharp bits will puncture the vacuum bag.....

Just the other side to do before the frame covers are done.

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Of course..... What else would it be?
A Suzuki? No chance....
Not after they theatend to sue me for getting them a lap record and then I want to sell my own spec of bike which they then get upset about.... Great you got us a lap record.... Oh but you cannot profit of your achievement..... Tossers.... Never going to buy a Suzuki now....

Re: Carbon question.......
One swing arm mould down... Just a bit of polishing with compound over the next few days to get more shine. I am making the other side now...

The frame covers will be next week....
Who is up for Carbon Kevlar ones? I know Levo wanted Kevlar so if I have to buy in materials it would be a good idea to know how much to buy...

Re: Carbon question.......
Side 2 almost made up now...
I have put two layers of gel coat on the swing arm now... one layer of Black and then a layer of White. It lets me see if I have sanded quite deeply if the white layer shows through and I know I do not have much before I hit the carbon or glass that makes up the mould.

I want to make these moulds suited to oven or autoclave carbon so the mold id being made up in carbon fiber and there are currently 6 layers of Carbon and 2 layers of glass twill weave cloth...
There are 2 more layers of carbon to go down and 2 of Glass fibre too.. This is not a cheap way to make a mould but is the strongest... So as I have off cuts I am using these to make up this mould... If I had to do it with new fresh carbon it would be expensive to do at over £300 per sq meter of mould area.. But in this case... It is just off cuts...

Re: Carbon question.......
Can i ask,Why you used carbon for the moulds And not glassfibre,as it would have been cheaper.
