Put a new clutch cable on yesterday.
Rock and roll.
Oh yeah, booked in for a major service (I could do this myself, but to be honest, I CBA and I trust my tame mechanic and I figure I wouldn't want to do the valve clearances myself, so whilst he's got it then he can do the easy stuff too!

):
Chain + Sprockets
Oil & Filter
Plugs
Air filter
Fit new rear tyre
Valve clearances

Checked over the brakes, chain tension etc THEN
jumped on the tiddler and went here

for a last chance to watch this
Why not use the RVF you may ask, well the little Yamaha is easier to ride across ploughed fields!

Took the NC over to the Shroppie Fly at Audlem this afternoon with the Mrs on her Tiger 800. Lovely afternoon by the canal in the sun.

Thrashed it out on one of my favourite routes today as it hadn't been out for a week or so.. Thoroughly enjoyable despite the falling temperature of late.

Perfect Summer weather her in Sydney for a ride so I headed off down through the "Royal National Park" once again and stopped at Coaldale for a bite to eat.
Unfortunately on the way home She developed a dead spot at 11-12000 rpm and would rev through to red-line so I nursed her home thinking the worst.
Got home shut her down in the driveway and went inside for a "refreshments break" Came out 1/2 and hour later to fine my battery was so flat the indicators would not flash let alone turn the engine over.
Upon bump starting the old girl and metering the power output I am only getting 13.1 volts to the battery and that is while giving her a good rev.
Is this likely to be the rectifier/regulator on the fritz or a generator problem?
Could the flat battery be the cause of the dead spot in the top end of the rev range?
Anyway here is the route
if anyone can help with the above question it would be much appreciated
Regards
CT

Track day...
Then this happened on the way home. Glad it wasn't while on the track! Rear shock is totally blown.

Took the Vfr on a 70 mile round trip up to Oxford this morning. One of those unexpected, spur of the moment journeys, really pleased I took the bike, light traffic, not cold, the sun even showed itself briefly.

Contemplated the gap in my upper-fairing and whether there was better fix than the current solution. I decided there was but didn't have the materials or time to make a pair of brackets so wheeled it back in the garage.
