The adapters are made by Oolitt and sit at the bottom of the shock effectively lenghtening it for use on the 3TJ.
For the 1WG you need to grind the bottom end so it's round rather than the original square type and then use a jack up kit.

Well the new bottom 3tj steering stem arrived wednesday and has been lovingly slotted into the r1 bottom yoke.the freshly mated parts were then whisked off to my buddy who is making a spacer that will fit under and in the top yoke as the 3tj yoke is thinner in diameter at the top than the r1s.i will def post some pics when its done and it will mean ill be able to fit the front end in and see if i need to shorten the r1 damper rods as early r1 forks are very long but fortunately they have alot of unused sag so you can shorten the damper rods without running out of fork travel-or so im told.manged to ride hybrid 1 last weekend in anger and i think i might be heading in the right direction with the running rich problems-i might even not have to make another airbox after all, i just need a couple of dyno runs to see how its fuelling.definately need to change the gearing.a 1 tooth smaller sprocket will go o0n tommorrow to make the gearing 14/44.

well all the wheel, suspension, steering head bearings are in place, ive dismantled the t/cat completely and the motor is now waiting for me to get enough enthusiasm to drag it outside and clean and degrease it.the400/r1 yokes are done with the spacer in the top yoke,so all im waiting for are the clock subframe/seat subframe/top and bottom yoke to come back from blasting/coating and the build can finnally begin.ill post some pics when i can find the camera which has probably wandered off to die somewhere quiet along with my swingarm end caps.i managed to win an akrapovic pipe off e-bay(still boxed) with link pipe for £103.im not one for bling but i thought bollox im having a nice pipe for this one!ive now got to decide what colour scheme its gonna be.cant afford a yellow/black kenny roberts rep so i think its gonna be white and black but ill probably change my mind at least five times depending on whats left of my budget

I've been ill for the last 2 weekends but got down to the garage this afternoon and started stripping the Bimota. I've got down to getting the exhaust off.
I've got a half day off tomorrow so I should work out how to drop the engine by then.
Pics tomorrow

ive been making some progress this week, but the lack of a swingarm end cap prevents me getting the swingarm and wheel in.i couldnt find one anywhere so a call to fowlers found it to be out of stock with a minimum of a weeks wait so they can get it in-bugger]!!.but the hybrid is now resembling a motor bike at last
Image r1 FORKS

rear subframe and expansion resevoir fitted

R1 yokes with 3tj stem pressed in
Image
yokes and forks slotted in place
Image
front subframe and thundercat clocks in place
Image
r6 wheel fitted
the thundercat clocks fit straight onto the 3tj subframe like they were meant to be there, and as im using the t/cat loom will plug straight in.theres not much clearance between the fork tops and the fairing stay as the forks need to be thru the yokes as they are a bit longer than the 3tj ones.i may have to have the damper cartridges shortened yet to get the required fork length, but the r1 yokes have about an inch of unused fork travel so they can be shortened without risking them bottoming out but until i have a good measure up i cant be sure.as i cant finish the chassis til the swingarm end caps arrive, this weekend will be used to put the t/cat loom on.the two looms seem quite different as the two bikes have their electrical bits and pieces placed diferently around the frame so some adjustment may be called for.

Im gonna put hybrid2 on hold for the moment as its now starting to take up valuable riding time and also eating into my trackday budget.now hybrid1 is just about right i want to spend some quality time with it now the weathers better.i dont think ive got to spend too much more(although it hasnt been expensive) on bits as i think i have nearly everthing i need apart from a few sundry items.the wiring loom looks as though it may throw up a few worries as the 600 ecu and various other electrical items are placed differently on the two frames so some connections are too short, which means relocating various bits and peices.it will live!!!!

Nice work so far, its coming on good! I wish i could get started on mine but im still backlogged with my winter projects which i need to finish and sell. Luckily now they are only requiring paint so soon i will have a zx7 and srad for sale. I have however managed to get my hybrid home now and have been thinking of ways to make a ramair system similar to the bdk scoop. But thinking about it is only as far as it has got. I am also in the process of making a 660cc motor, which when finished will be going in my trackbike. Finding a 3he motor within budget is holding up the project, but im watchin one at the mo on the bay. With the 660 finished the 600 will be fitted straight into the road bike. Just need more time....

Zip ties are your friends ;)
Under the covers of mine I've improvised. Who cares as long as it's secure and works.
