If you don't want to put it to factory Honda spec (put the flap back in and sort the carbs out) then the only way to do it properly is to take it to a dyno operator and get them to analyze the gas mixture and jet from there.

People can offer advice but without seeing the actual bike and riding it to tell you could be going around in circles for a long time.

Even your type of foam will affect the jetting

Hi, I spoke to some guys at a shop here that do Racing, they recommended I run 110's all round due to the climate, they have a lot of experience and showed me a printout of a VFR they did recently.

I took the carbs out fitted the 110's and set float, checked everythin again, then I fitted them. I also returned the airbox to standard. So besides the end can the bike is stock

It starts perfectly and sounds good but after a couple minutes the revs drop and wants to die, I can keep it idleing by revving but it sounds like its not running on all 4 cylinders. I called the guys at the shop and they say it could be the fuel tap not delivering petrol correctly, could this be the problem? I've checked everythin incl the vacuum. Pls help I'm pullin my hair out

Vacuum hose is the common, tap diaphram, air leak and posibly carbs need balancing/synchronising, im glad you dropped your jets down 110 is stock japanese setting however if its running fine then its ok,

I knew if you took our advice it would be ok.

Maybe an apology and a thank you to the lads on board hey?

But the bike isn't running properly, the std jets were 118/115. I checked the vacuum and replaced the pipe just to be sure. If it needs balancing and synchronising is it hard? Is there a thread on here on how to do it? I apologise to anyone I offended

also check that the tank breather is not blocked - so as fuel flows a vacuum is being caused in the tank, you can hear that with a "whoosh" as you open the filler. if its blocked, clear it, and or remove the vent pipe on the top of the tank (i bet you have crushed it between the tank / frame)
but as this place is "overrated" as you put it, you crack on with your own diagnostics, forget the collective years of experience we all have on here,. ;)

also - JHB is at altitude is it not? a few thousand feet? So, smaller jets are all you needed. ref the fuel, I bet a whole load of humble pie that you put the fuel vacuum hose on the wrong spigot.. it goes on the outer one..

get on it lad!

LOL, no I know where the vacuum goes. If it was wrong the bike wouldnt start at all as no fuel would be sucked in, am I right?
