Not bad. It lasted 26 years! Still a shit design from an engineers point of view.
Whats wrong with the design.

The gas-flow through a stock NC2x system is pretty impressive. I have some magazines somewhere of the system flow i'll try and dig-out.

You don't see many NC21's on the road becuase there not that desirable, most of them that were crashed were broken and many old ones are in a bad state now so have just been left to rot. Importers don't bring many over from Japan as they don't fetch a lot so theres no money to be made.

Shame really as they arn't a bad run-about.

Like you've found though, collectors can set you back 200 quid plus removing the engine to change it, when the bikes only fetch around 500 it writes them off.

Works looking good though, should be nice and clean when it's finished, looking forward to see

£65 brand new off ebay. Bargain of the year.
You did well there, mine was about £140 NOS from David Silver.

Looking forward to seeing the results of all your work; I have a naked NC21 (a 400ZG) and I thought that, when it was on the road, it was brilliant. Got a lot of respect for it too.

Thanx lads. The new collector is now on.

Shock on in the morning. Start her up again (oh how ive missed that v4 sound), run her up to temp, check for gas leaks and after she has cooled i'll re-check all nuts and bolts to make sure they are still tight.

Front master cylinder now has nice new seals so that'll go on along with new brake lines. I like new lol.

I'm hoping mine will turn a few heads too. I prefere rarer bikes. I get that off my dad as he has some proper old British classics.

The thing is, what will I do once it's all done and I'm not out riding? I know. Buy another lol.

Wow, nice to see another NC21, not alot left, i've got a 1986 model thats currently being worked on ;)

If you need parts microfiches try CMSNL their what ive being using since i got mine as the haynes manuals only cover spec's and when you rebuild forks etc its nice to know what you are letting yourself in for (what with the anti-dive and air damping) im on the brakes at the mo just striped and started cleaning them, got new pads, pistons and seals!

One question what did your dad use to make the paint look that good?
