Re: HELP!!! Urgent, (KOSO) dash clock
Yes, you need to use the 2 cylinder setting, you have 4 cylinders and 2 coils, it uses whats known as a wasted spark system, your ignition system sends spark to 2 cylinders everytime, only the cylinder which is at top dead centre of the compression stroke actually uses it to ignite the mixture, the other cyclinder (whose piston is at the same position in it's bore but in the middle of pushing out spent exhaust gases) which is why it's known as "wasted spark".Lane wrote:You need to adjust the setting to 2 cylinder, due to the wasted spark system, it thinks your doing double the revs.
So although you do have four pistons, you need the set up for 2. Just imagine your V4 is two separate parallel twin engines.
I've tried to simplify it so I hope that makes sense.

4C 2P

Re: HELP!!! Urgent, (KOSO) dash clock
The C indicates cycle, because the instructions are interpreted from another language it's a bit confusing.
4 stroke/2 stroke can also be called 2 cycles/4 cycle and 2 temp/4temp
So don't confuse the C as meaning cylinder.

It has always been 4c 2p, you are confusing the C, it is referring to 2 stroke/4 stroke and not the number of cylinders.butler46 wrote:this is now getting even more confusing :S. sorry, at the top of this page you said "You need to adjust the setting to 2 cylinder" and now saying put 4c 2p ? would you be able to read the sites info if this might help you help me :S im really sorry if im annoying you :S

2 is the number of pistons/cylinders.

Re: HELP!!! Urgent, (KOSO) dash clock

SORTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D im sooo happy

me and my grandad sorted out the resistor mod at the back of the bike, and it revved straight away

and now onto my KOSO set up problem,
(if you have ever watched SCRAPPY RACES/Scrap Heap Challenge you might know a team called the Chaos Crew(my uncles) anyway my Uncle came round to see his dad, and we told him all about teh settings and stuff, and he went through it all with me, and we got it sorted
as strange as it sounds, the settings are
4C 12P :S all works fine,
what should an NC30 idle at ? as mine seems to idle about 1500 to 1750 and my uncle thinks it should idle around 1000 ?
im well happy, but thanks for all your help, as it wouldn't be possible withought yous and all your advice
