You can get some slides from on here I am sure.

By soldering iron - I presume you intend to melt the slide?

Why not a dab of silicone or araldite?

Yeah just melt it in to cover up the hole , may get messy though. mite just go with the silicone should do the job

Did you ever end pulling out and checking your spark plugs?

I seem to be having similar problems, but when I pulled out my s/p's they were a tinge of brown

Uh... Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but my (stock) NC35 has holes in the slides and works fine, as far as I'm aware they're supposed to be there?

yer they should have holes it is to allow the slides to rise and fall depending on the air pressure. i think they are standard 2mm.

Lol They must have a whole, otherwise you would never get full travel of the needle.

I just pulled my carbies off tonight, and was fiddling with my slides, and noticed they were returning to fast!
Turns out I hadn't fitted the diaphragm's properly

Pulled off the cover's refitted the diaphragm's seals and covers, now they are returning with a little resistance!

It's to late to ride it now, but I'll let you know how it goes.

yeah I done the homework on the holes in the slides before attacking them , I have the carbs set up standard now so im gona go from there . Its a whole lotta fun !!

A carb balance is on the cards now as the bike is making the power past the 180km but I find it hesitant and a small bit jumpy plus the idle seems wavy also.

the strange thing was that while balancing 1 and 3 with 2 and 4 there was what seemed to be a drop in engine speed and resulted in the rods on the carbtune dropping to where they are in the final picture.
I took the bike for a spin and it is still going good up the rev's in 1 2 3 gear but after that it will only slowly pull on and is hesitant
I also find on initial starting the idle setting seems to be different each time and I have to adjust it.
Also sometimes when I rev the bike to about 5000 and the needle will not drop smoothly and will hover at 2000 rpm for a second before settling to idle.
what do yis think of that?
