Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
a little more progress made, got the swingarm back together and the engine back in the frame

the engine has had a fairly good clean up but needs a few paint touch up's, then will remove the water pump housing and the thermostat housing and polish up along with the sump and spray the speedo drive , some carbon covers should tidy it up a tad more,
i didnt really want to start pulling the motor apart as it really runs quite well so dont want to end up causing any probs by doing so, so i just chucked it back in the frame,.

You did do the valve clearences before chucking the motor back in the frame didnt you, its a hell of a lot easier with the motor out the bike.
Its all looking very clean tho, good job

Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
ok not done much over the last couple of days as ive been a bit hectic but cleaned up the thermostat housing today from this ...

to this....

also got the loom back on but not sure if ive routed it right as stupidly i didnt take enough pics of this before the strip down ,
how ive routed it is,,, the centre of the loom (the big rubber grip) in the clamp on the rear rocker cover , then it goes to the right side of the frame down "between the thermostat hose and the frame" to the connector block/fairing bracket on the right side of the frame,
then under the thermostat housing connecting the single wire to the stat, then it branches off , one branch goes off to the clocks along the outside of the frame up to the grip on the clock mount bracket,
the other branch goes through the hole in the forward right engine mount over the front rocker cover but outside the rubber flap so it runs "between the top rad and rubber flap" under the airbox intake down to the left into the wire spiral to the coil bracket on the forward left engine mount ,
hope that makes sense , can anyone confirm this is the correct way please ,

Re: Deviants nc30 strip and rebuild
not been doing much constructive on the bike just latley, but have been cleaning up more parts , ive stripped the fork lowers of there flakey chipped paint and gave them a few primer coats and then a few coats of satin black, i was going to go back to the original colour or close to but opted for the black to tie in with the frame , ive also stripped the clipon brackets back to bare alloy and polished up, gave the bars a new coat of satin too and the clutch lever bracket and front brake braket/master cylinder also in satin, its all looking very nice and fresh and not the tired scabby look that its been since ive owned the bike,
i did replace the left hand switch gear a while back so now i need a run/kill switch as my one is badly faded and grotty looking, the recent left hand one is ok so the kill switch lets the bars down now,
ill get some more shots of the little bit of work ive done over the last few weeks uploaded soon as i know we all like to see piccys
the tyga suzuka cowl will be going off to my mates (protintuk.co.uk) for white carbon wrap in a few days purley to see if it can be done as there are some complex curves and stuff , so its off for trial wrap , if it goes well then the rest of the bodywork and tank will follow, if it proves to be a nightmare then it will have to be plain white vinyl wrap or paint , the reason being that the carbon wrap cant be heated and stretched as much unlike the plain as it distorts the carbon affect too much and looks pants,
also id like to thank brooky for yet another fantastic set of graphics for the bike , a job well done im sure there gunna look fantastic on the bike after the wrap, your a star mate
