ooooohhhh :o

you didn't want to do that.. :scare:

it is a Grade A, class 1, top fuel major league BALLACHE to get that back on.

Why did you take it off by the way?

if you cannot get it onto the carbs with them there you are going to have to take the carbs off the motor.

You'll be best served taking the carbs off - look under them and see the 4 rubber boots that have 2 clips each? Undo the top clips - and then pull the carbs off.

put it back together and remind yourself never to take that off again....

Seeing as you have the carbs in hand, clean them, look at what jets you have etc and make a note of them. Don't be drilling the slides, or installing washers etc - that is for later.

Good luck 8-)

No, you can get them on by some manipulation. Wouldn't want to reassemble them myself! :o

You should be able to manhandle them onto the plate without splitting.

After you get them on, you'll need to have a search for the "drill bit method" of carb balancing as they'll be out. Also have to check your chokes work OK as the linkages might be skewed a touch.

Good luck!

I usually slacken the 2 screws off that hold the 4 carbs to there so there's a bit more play to work with to get the top plate on.

It's not a real fun job whichever way you get it done. Make sure that none of the rubber intake stacks are covering carb holes - you'll see what I mean!

might it be worth buying a second hand set of carbs balanced off ebay? Around 40quid it might be a lot easier , and use the originals as a back up set. Thats if they aren't uk spec ones!

right got it back together  after gettin fed of working in the garage i took them to my room and watched top gear whilst putting them back together, also i thing i found out why it wernt running the two front carbs wernt sat in the rubbers properly on top of the engine as i didnt have to unscrew the two front retaining clips holding the carbs to the engine so i hope when its all back togethr it will all work fine. now i just need to check there balanced
