Cheers Tony, I think I may have another couple of them somewhere but think one needs fixed as it doesnt return back to the bottom i.e 40 instead it stays at 50.
I like the set up you have there looks nice, very RC45 but as mine is for the CBR400 I wanted something a bit more retro
Dont wanna let one go do you?

id like the retro look for my 30. I want my 35 to be a mini RC45, ive got something very trick planned for the forks.
Kai's ohlins makeover? or have you got your hands on a pair of showa SPL's

Showa SPL's i bloody wish! They are showa and they do have quick release bottoms though. Just need to do a bit of homework on caliper and wheel fitment first tho as im really not keen on the style wheels that fit them, do you give up?
Other than that im fed up with looking at the multi coloured panels on the bike and im no closer to finding these elusive pictures of the am-pm bike i want to replicate so for now ive painted it in what i call the 2011 test bike scheme.

The front fender and V piece not pictured here are in black. Have also fitted a RC45 style dash

Needs a tidy up and a new foam panel made but its more authentic than that digital setup that i had. I might actually finish this bike one day

Wrong bike mate, i know its similar but i wanna get it right. You know them suzuka DVD's i sent you? check out the 1994 season and your see what i mean. Unfortunatly theres not much coverage of it as they binned it early on in the race.
Talking of crashes at suzuka, have you see some of the states they rode the bikes back in to the pits after a off? fucking crazy japs!

This looks alot better mate.
Will this be the one running open carb set up or have you another bike lurking to run that set-up?

It will be this one mate, its currently running a stock box, K&N, RO needles and 124 mains. I have some HRC slides now so when i fit them i'll change it to open carb, Im not convinced i need a HRC air tray on mine tho as on the 35 the rubber flap is virtually acting as the front part of the air tray, my top rad is dropped 10mm anyway so i might just try unclipping the flap under the head stock and fixing it to the top of the rad creating a airway.

Nice, if its still ok i will send you a NC24 slide to compare with yours before you fit them if thats ok?
Good to know someone else is going to run this set-up so we can both try/experiment will different settings as im geting back on with mine now.

Yeah send one over mate, i compared one to the stock slide today and its also longer by about 2-3mm. What else have you done to the carbs to run them open? i know i need to cut the stacks down and partially block the air jet but is there anything else? What jetting you running?

I'm guessing early MV showas, you could run almost any late-ish supersport 6 wheel/brake combo (they all run 310mm discs, like the early MV's) with the sixpiston MV Nissins and a custom axle and spacers. This is made easier if you go with custom yokes as you can accomodate whatever disc offset you need, without shimming or machining of the disc or caliper mounting faces. But I guess you want the look of a honda sixspoke which none of recent supersport bikes have.
On my bike I run 07 R6 forks and calipers with NC30 wheel and discs, made possible by custom yokes, axle and spacers (and some machining on the calipers).
I considered the MV forks, they look the business and have fairly good damping, but I think the 49mm stancions is to stiff for the NC30 chassis but your NC35 chassis have slightly better torsional stiffness, so they could/should work well. Looking forward to hearing more..

Spot on ronni, i quite fancied the bigger 58mm is it??? versions but now you've said that i think the 48's will be a better option. I was going to use custom yokes anyway or do you think i could get away with shimming the yokes i have to fit the 48's instead of the RVF's 50mm ones.
So using the 3 spoke PVM that i have already wont work then? id settle for a 3 spoke off a supersport bike for the mean time but eventually i want to source a set of 6 spoke magteks for the bike.
