Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
Really want my rev counter to look like that as I think it would go well with my HRC temp gauge:

Looks spot on mate, heres the HCR RC45 setupSpeedy wrote:The unit is a chopped up NC29 with a home-made printed dial/scale. Not sure how well it'll last in its current photo-paper form, but it'll have to do for now. Looking at the HRC unit on Stephen's lovely RC45, how close is my attempt at making this look as good?
Is that off an NSR250? It looks almost the exact same as the HRC!
Also, where you getting new foam from?

Could you not print it out on sticky backed gloss paper?
The temp gauge i have is the same as whats fitted to stephens 45, im told the NSR's had the same gauge also. Its a HRC part. The whole setup was off a NC35 race bike and came with a nice little race loom aswell. The foam was from ebay, think i searched for closed cell foam sheet.
EDIT: Heres the foam i brought http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
Liam, that HRC temp gauge is too cool

Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
Yakama, you can even have a HRC logo on the rev counter to match the Temp guage if you wanted, though I think it looks best just as it is!
Cheers for the photo DM, that's the photo I used to copy the Tacho!
Thanks for the link as well; that's quite good but at least for the tacho I got, it's a bit too thin (it should be 13-14mm) and that makes the face of it protrude a bit too much! Have I mentioned I'm a bit of a perfectionist yet?
Fortunately, I've got a bit of sticky bum pad foam which is 22m thick; I'll try to cut it to the thickness I want and see how it comes out.
Work in progress...

I could do that, but in time the UV rays will get to that too; there may be an issue with how it lights up at night too!...Could you not print it out on sticky backed gloss paper?

Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
Not 100% sure if it does work as I haven't tested it yet; but I'm sure I saw photos & read somewhere a while ago, about a track NC35 using one, which is why I bought this one!Drunkn Munky wrote:Did you say that tacho is from a NC29??? will that work on a V4 then?
When I researched about it, I discovered that the NC23 unit doesn't work on the NC35 but should work on the NC30 as it's essencially the same unit, as are the NC29 & 35 ones!
Hmm, I might get the RVF out of hybernation and make sure that it does work!...

Hmmmm i dunno mate i think tacho's are set to the engine configuration. I recently brought a Elliot race tacho that come off a SRAD, It reads double on the NC35 but works fine on the NC29

Cheers Tony, I think I may have another couple of them somewhere but think one needs fixed as it doesnt return back to the bottom i.e 40 instead it stays at 50.
I like the set up you have there looks nice, very RC45 but as mine is for the CBR400 I wanted something a bit more retro
