Are you sure ?!
I think the wheel will hit the swingarm.
Won't it ?!

Hello everybody.
I found this topic by googling ''rc36 wheel on nc24''.
I am a proud owner of nc21, nc24, nc30 and nc35 and very experienced in service-technical-modification of these bikes.
Here some info for you.
1-There is NOWAY a nc30 swingarm to fit a nc21-24. NO WAY! To put it in other worlds, its EASIER to fit a CBR1100XX engine to nc24 frame, than a nc30 swing arm. Nc24 swing arm is open in the middle, and uses too small axles to fit the frame from either side. In the open section in the centre, the exhaust pipes of the rear cylinders pass through. On the other hand, the nc30 swing arm, has ONE axle that passes the swing arm from side to side, and there is NO SPACE for the exhaust pipes, because there is no opening in the nc30 swing arm centre. NC30 swing arm on NC21-24, simply forget it!
2-The NC30 u have seen with 4 nut rear wheel, is a modification some racers-trackdayers use, just to get 17'' 180 rear tires, that are easier to obtain. The wheel in this case is a RC36II 5'' 17'' rear wheel, and in order to fit the nc30, the hub of the nc30 needs a certain level of serious machining.
3-A NC24 CAN use a RC36II 5'' 17'' rear wheel with light machining on the nc24 hub. Both NC24 and RC36II wheels have an offset of 16mm and same 4x98 nuts. But there is a little difference in the diameter of the wheel's hub guide, thats why the NC24 hub needs machining. Apart from that, even with the 5'' wheel on, a max of 160 tire can be used, before the tire contacts chain or inner side of swing arm.
I hope I was helpfull :)

wow old thread.
Yep, You summed it up.
There are quite a few people on here with VFR750 wheels on modified NC30 hubs.
Theres a guy who machined the NC30 hub down to fit the NC24 swinging arm too.
The NC30 shock is offset too around the rear downpipes. if you did mange to fit a swinging arm combined with NC30 exhaust system the NC30 rear manifold would most likely hit the shock.
But you wouldn't want to put an NC30 system on an NC24 anyway as it's split front bank / rear bank rather than left bank / right bank of the 180 engines.
hence the HRC NC24 TT-F3 exhaust system being split left/right :)
I find the 130/70 tyre good enough for most 24 riding anyway.. take more involvement to ride a 24 like a lunatic than it does any of the newer radial tyred bikes, my zxr feels like it's riding itself around bends compared to the 24

Just done a 17 conversion on the front of my nc24, the rear will be done shortly, I've spend loads buying parts, but have got there with stuff to sell
Cbr1000 2.5 in wide front with machined disc mounts from a 88 or 89 bike. Happily runs a 110/70/17 may take a 120, spacers made up and it fits nice, the rear is harder, I've found a company that will custom build a 3 pice split rim out of billet aluminium for just over 400 quid, vfr750/800 wheels to wide, the ntv650 is a good shout but you need an nc30 hub so gets expensive, or use a 4 in wide Volvo steel spacesaver with spacer, Toyota and Mercedes ones will also work, that should work and I've found a company who will make the spacer and weld and re drill the bolt holes, front pic to follow shortly, rear when it's finished, if anyone wants any details, ill happily supply it,

You can fit a CBR400 Aero 17" front wheel easy enough, it also looks very similar to the stock NC21/24 wheel
Thats also a 110/70/17 wheel.
There dirt cheap too.
Only problem is 110/70/17 is still a bit of an oddball size so the choice of rubber isnt improved much, if at all.
The 18/16 setup makes the bike really easy to turn and putting 17s on it just ruins it.
Aslo with the bikes only being worth 500 - 600 quid its much better to replace the rear shock and overhaul the front forks than to change the wheels and just enjoy the bike for what it is.
