so ur fitting a new head.... its dremel time me thinks! have a go porting the intakes on the new one cos i dont know about you but mine look like someones put textured wallpaper on them :)

I did think about that but i know people use to say (well on two strokes anyway) that the intake should be like that as it makes the fuel/air mixture mix better?
To be honest i always though the carb did that, but who knows?
Definatley needs a very good clean out on the exhaust side of things, polish the head and valves too me thinks :D

yeh it souldnt be mirror finish but there's no way its ebnt to be that bad like you said its to creat a bit of turbulance which help the air and fuel mix

I always thought that you are supposed to smooth out the ports to increase airflow as a rough surface will decrease air flow just what i remember from my mini modding days. Also blueprinting is the way forward.

Thanks for that, the only difference is the little bits that stick out and have the brass inserts, any idea what they are for?
