About your initial shock questions: If you've got the 3en1, then I think you'll have the braced swingarm, in which case the R6 shock will foul on the swingarm. You would need to change the swing arm for a 3en2 non braced version, then you should be able to fit an 07 r6 shock. You may still need some spacers making up though, but it shouldn't be a big job. The 3en2 / 3en1 swing arms are straight swaps.
If your not going to fit your r6 shock, I'd be interested in buying it off you, as I'm considering a similar thing myself.

I've put a Brembo radial master on my TJ it works well but the lever just touches the clocks on full lock ... I'll need a sympathetic mot station
Thanks for that, spotted one from the US I might get actually...

Not sure you'd want this R6 shock actually, it's a 2001 model, although in good condition it might not suit your needs... I might have to figure out geometry and what mountings would need machining to fit it up if I were to use this one.

Thanks for the offer, do you know if the 3en2 swing arm takes the 3TJ wider wheel? - as I've got a couple of en2 arms, I just figured I need the 3TJ one to put the wider 3TJ wheel in

Trev, was the 160/18" a 3TJ wheel? - just need to know what I should be looking for to drop in... basically if am I understanding things right, I can get a 3TJ rear wheel and it will just slot straight in? - Don't suppose you still have the 160/18" Trev? if so, please could I have a price... then I can pay you for that and the mythical fuel pump that I haven't sent you any quids for yet. :)

forgot about the pump it's still in the shed lol
the 160 i had on was on my normal 3en2 rim
still got it (i think) could get bigger in but migh rub as there was a little room left on both sides with the 160 in
the 150 feels betters on courners (might just be me)

What's the 18" wheel from Trev? - how much do you want for it... do you have all the bits I need to drop it straight in? - Thanks.

the tyre i bought brand new think it's a dunlop from dexel tyre company and it was £82.99
the rim is a standard 3en2
i have not got a clue if the 3en2 is the same as the 3en2 fitting
what size tyre you got and how new is it just cluld do you a swap if it's a 150/60/18
