Should be your idleing problem... if it runs way rich on the bottom then someone swapped carbs and what i mean by way rich is you will foul plugs like the orings are bad...

Cheers Racer :)

Well today I ordered 4 x 09492-35008 Pilot Jet (Size 35) £24.48 from Robinsons Foundry.

The good thing about those is there 35 not 32.5 as what was in my carbs and my Factory Pro sheet says you can use 35 ones for a richer off idle and 4,000rpm cruise.

If there no good I can always put me old uns back in :)

I'll keep ya posted how I go.

Oh I got this datalogger on the 400RR too, I could have put it on the R1 but chose to put it on the 400RR, I will be able to capture data and show you what the bike does real-world 0-60 times, standing start 1/4 mile, top speed and tell you what its puttin out to the tarmac BHP wise.

I did a review on em ere : http://www.yzf1000-r1.co.uk/veypor.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's the unit that lights up blue, can't wait to be able to tell you guys what the performance specs are and with the stage 3 jet kit too, and I should know by end of next week :D

Cheers.

Matt

I have to say, I have honestly been glued to this thread (and all others relating).

I really admire your determination as I know how frustrating it can be.

I hope this works for you now GSX-R400 with the new Pilot Jets.

Cheers Chalky :D

I hope it works too, something very cool happens at 14,000rpm which I can't replicate on me R1

This time next week I'll know if it's fixed it, am keepin everything crossed, and will keep ya posted :)

Cheers.

Like i said ive got a Bandit so cannot give 100% answers, the B4 has the plugs which make the piolts get fuel from the mains, seems like the GSXR owners say you dont need them but if they are suppost to be there you will need them in.You say the bike gets better as you wind the pilot screw out and so when you up the pilot jet youll find they wil be further in as the jet size increasess. When youve got the jettting right it will be running 1.5 to 2 turns out. Do the GSXR guys think youve got Bandit carbs on?The jets in the front of the bellmout are air jets, dont know if they are adjustable, youll have a pilot air jet that feeds the pilot jet and a main air jet that feeds the main jet. When you get the bike running you will know alot about carbs, lol. remember you will have to do a WOT plug chop as well to check the mains are correct.
All the best Chris.

I think if youve got plugs in maybe someone fitted bandit carbs at some point, so leave them there for now.
