as V-twins go, anyone see the Britten story, John Britten the New Zealander designed and built his own 1000cc V-twin from scratch, and it was way beyond its time. If you get chance to see the video i'd recommend it, unfortunately i think he died of cancer but it's and amazing story and an awesome sounding and rapid V-twin

I don't like classics, never have but I can appreciate the work involved in maintaining them and keeping them going (not to mention the cost). As for the Britten bike, that's possibly one of the best bikes ever made IMO.

i find it pretty amazing when he turns up to daytona the first time and one of the barrells cracks so they take it to a college work shop and braze it, then go out and race, although it didn't finish it was because of a reg/rectifier that he didn't build lol.

i think they said it had as much as power as a GP bike of the time, about 180-185 bhp

wow, ok first you shud understand some things

1 viper has a gsxr 750
2 has one of the nicest and well cared for nc30's on this site,
3 puts alot of time into running this site so think its a bit harsh on how you laying into him

and also i dont think he was nessisarily talking about th britten bikes, more about the bikes in the tread in general thread

change of subject, no vid unfortunately but I rode this bike round brooklands and the sound was amazing!, had loads of people come up to me after saying it was by far the bestsounding bike that day, and there were some seriously nice manx nortons etc that i was chasing

My undying enthusiasm for VFRs and `60s Honda GP bikes is well documented, but I still think that the Britten is probably the best bike ever built...

Not going off on a BOF trip here, but if you think the Honda & MV multis sound good doing parades & demos, you should have heard them being raced in anger...!
