Re: r1 front end one fzr400 1wg
Hi sorry to thread jack
but with this setup would you be able run the R1 front wheel with the R1 disks and calipers?
im just starting a full rebuild/Upgrade on my Fzr400 3en2 1wg
and im looking for USD forks the ability to utilise the caliper brackets and upgrade the front brakes at the same time would be a massive plus for me
cheers Ollie

Ollie; you use the complete front end for this mod inc. wheel.
The work is in getting the steering stem swapped over (its discussed earlier in the topic)
There are another couple of pics in Nestor's ad. for the finished bike he has up for sale;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fzr-400-1996- ... 19ef77000a
One problem you will encounter with this mod on a 3EN2 is the fact that the speedo drive is missing.
Without this, the bike will be restricted to 12k rpm as no signals are being sent to the TCI circuit.
This may be overcome by sourcing a M-Max derestriction box that plus into the loom.
Start sourcing one NOW; they are very rare at present.
Someone may be able to remove the restriction circuit at the TCI itself.( seems commonly done on the later 3TJ models)

If you don't "need" USD forks then a Thundercat front end will drop straight in
