will stick with it for now i may get used to it,

i found the 14mm sharp, instant, minimal lever travel, could one finger brake.

i find the 5/8 spongier, less responsive, and the lever travels far further all 4 fingers are required.

the system is bled properly however ill manually bleed some more just in case, before my next outing.

I'd suggest something was up with the 5/8" master or it wasn't bled right. EG even a bit of raised corrosion on the thread end could cause a poor seal, or a bit of corrosion on the barrel can nick a pressure seal.

Either way if you're happy then great :)

Sorry mate it's not correct. I'm on my second 98 RRW and they both had 5/8" master from stock.

92-97, 14mm. 98-99, 5/8". 929/954, different design and lever completely and different bore size again.
Erm, a 98 RRW Blade is 929cc, not 918cc

That sounds backwise to me braaa

the 14mm, IMO, was squidgy and uber power with lots of travel before it bi..and then it ramped up too much. Like V brakes on an MTB with the wrong levers (only people who had an MTB pre 1997 will get this....)

The 5/68 is more like my MTB - not so much travel, less bite and a more linear power - never comes back.

Facts:
96-97, 918cc engine. Earlier 14mm masters and batwing calipers.
98-99, 918cc engine. Newer 5/8" masters and bigger round silver calipers.
00-01, 929cc engine. New type master and bigger gold calipers.
02-03, 954cc engine. Slightly smaller master and caliper piston bores.

So you can take your  and stick em where the sun don't shine. That's twice you've contradicted facts with misinformation. I am on my third 918cc fireblade, how many have you had? Do some research before trying to make me look silly, as you are 100% wrong.

Meow!

I've had a 1993 918cc, 1998 929cc and a 2000 954cc. Plus I've worked on more 'Blades than you've likely ever seen.

Stick your own  where the sun never shines.

That's 3 models you've named all next to the wrong engine size. '93 was 893, '98 was 918, '00 was 929. Either you had 3 bikes with transplants or big bores, or you're on a wind-up. If you're serious then read this and learn summat: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CBR900RR I know it's only wiki but that's probably still above your reading age.

Either way I've had enough of this thread.

Not been out since last post but i stripped the MC down cleaned the shaft checked the seals reassembled reasured that it was satisfactory.

I bled the system with a mityvac, my brakes were also overhauled, all stainless banjo bolts, inc the MC, new washer used all round etc,

As i said ill give it a once over and bleed from the nipple etc and flush through another 250ml as i have a full unopened bottle i may aswell use.

Cheers Mort,
