I don't agree with this at all.Drunkn Munky wrote:100% agree, bridgestone should give full backup to who ever they sell tyres to weather that be the end user, a dealership or mr ebay trader. In a case like this where the tyre is clearly at fault the end user should be able to take/send the tyre back to weather they brought it and have it replaced then they should expect full support from bridgestone to recover their costs. If they cant support whoever they sell tyres to then they shouldnt be selling them, id be going to town on this.scotjell wrote:Yeah but don't you think one for one replacement like you have 28 days for most things if the zip fails on your trousers you take them back and get a new pair. But we have to pay out and hope to get some money back as they calculate how much use you've had out the tyre.
Bridgestone DO support their approved tyre resellers, you simply take the tyre back to them and if it is a fault with the tyre, the dealer will replace it and Bridgestone will do the rest.
Non approved bridgestone dealers will buy the tyre from another reseller and so on like a chain. This also can get the tyre damaged if the shipping is bad.
The tyre is damaged but it isn't clearly at fault, to me it looks like it was damaged in storage or fitting, belts dont usually wander on the tyre unless they are damaged. Bridgestone have also said it looks to have suffered damage? (I dont see why they would lie about anything)
I'd be asking the garage not the company directly to replace it, let them chase up whoever they brought it from, they sold it, many companies will tell you to try and take it up with the mfg directly as a we are not respsondible for this get out. It should eventually make its way back to bridgestone anyway if somebody dosent pay up first. Good local companies should try and get it sorted for you not fob you off. They brought it from somebody they can always chase them.
It isnt like the tyre is an appliance and that it carries a manufactureres warranty and you can chase it directly, its specialist equipement that needs to be properly installed. I don't think Bridgestone can be held responsible for bad storage and fitting of the tyre if it has been the case.
Sounds a bit like your being fobbed off by the place you brought it from to me, as I think every other tyre mfg will tell you the same thing.
Be interesting to see how you get on.
