You could use a 600 3HE k+n and cut / shut or squash it down (in a controlled way)

Re: I predict Yamaha Shares will rise soon.........
I bit the bullet mate, it's now on order. Once it's up and running, if it plays up a bit then I know I can ignore certain things as they are 'sorted' if you know what I mean. I reckon the carbs have been played about with or at least rebuilt, looking at the allen bolts holding the float bowls on. I am not going to touch them unless I need to.
Picked up the new throttle cables today. Just need to sort an ignition barrell then I can fit the airbox on 'to stay on'. At £120 for the genuine yammy one I might keep an eye out for a second hand 4XV R1 item to match the yokes.
Busy weekend either way

Re: I predict Yamaha Shares will rise soon.........
i think that's the one i used (3HE cluch cable) as i couldn't get the 3tj item strait away, it's a much better cable, it's got more strands and is thicker and the nipples fit at both ends, the only slight problem is the boss that fit's into the sprocket cover is about 1mm to big, so i gave it the good news with a file and that was that sortedrockTJ wrote: I am hoping the new genuine 3HE clutch cable I have lying around will work okChris

Re: I predict Yamaha Shares will rise soon.........
A few bits arrived today. Bizzarely the Japanese language sticker for tyre pressure that goes on the swinger is still available but the 'Deltabox' one isn't! Airfilter fits a treat - as it should. The rear tank bolt and choke lever will keep me busy for 2 mins lol. The rear sprocket tab washer is *still* on back order with Yamaha - should've just got one from ebay loads on there

The 3HE clutch cable fitted a treat and went straight into the sprocket cover without issues.
Wheels ready for collection Saturday so new bearings to get then build them up. Got a set of stainless disc bolts for the R1 front from ebay. Back brake hose sorted now, fitted a 500mm Goodridge stainless item. Need 1 new rear disc bolt though. Still need to source an ignition barrell.
Onwards and upwards

Re: I predict Yamaha Shares will rise soon.........
Chris,
I managed to get a reply about filter dimensions from Wemoto for their HiFlo filter.
http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fzr_ ... ter_hiflo/
L:105mm OD:110mm ID:65mm.
My original filter for my 3TJ has been cut up so I do not know if it is the original length. Would you be so kind as to measure your original Yamaha item so that we will know if this HiFlo is the correct length and not just another, too long, 1WG filter.
Thanks
Blair

i must have used the 4jh clutch cable then, i know it was a 600 item but couldn't remember the code on the packet, nice to know the 3he is a direct fit, although the 4jh does the job nicely

Re: I predict Yamaha Shares will rise soon.........
Right. Measurements from my filter;
Inner diameter of filter part: 64-65mm
Outer diameter of filter part: 113mm
Outer diameter of top lip: 125mm
Overall height: 96mm - this includes about 3 or 4mm of sponge thats on the bottom. This would crush down by around 2mm.
It sounds like yours is about 10-15mm too tall Blair - it might be the 1WG/3HE item
The Yamaha part no is 3TJ-14451-00

Re: I predict Yamaha Shares will rise soon.........
Thanks Chris. I have written a letter to the UK manager of HiFlo to see if they would consider adding our filter to their product line up, and I will let it be known if they come back with a positive response. If not then I will make an alternate lid for our airboxes that takes the earlier model filter and put a big hole in the top.
