Dunkenb, yep, I got the letter from ParcelFarce.

Import Duty: £25.33
Clearane Fee: £13.50
Total: £38.83

I can pay online by debit card and they'll release it next working day.

Well, I'm gonna pay and see how it goes...

Thats wierd i have ordered 2 sets of fairings from hong kong and never been charged duty etc, did they put it down as a gift?

Hi Petrolhead, can't tell you as I didn't even look. I have had a few items taxed as they come into the UK in the past, all have been around the Christmas period, so I guess that's what this is.

Did you see the photos I posted up? Do yours look okay or do they have similar problems - smudged paints, mis-spelt words etc?

Mind you, the gloss on mine looks pretty darn good, got to give them that.

The urban tiger nose is actually not OEM. It has tabs broken and blisters and scratches anyway so I am very likely going to throw that out. :|

I am always getting things from abroad only time i have been taxed was when i got my hecules rmx dj mp3 mixer from america, didnt realise i got taxed i never paid it and that was 4 years ago never heard anything since lol.

The fairings i got were from GTbidshop on ebay, never had a problem with them paint work is fantastic like glass, and all graphics were bang on, the only part i had a problem with was the rear light surround it wasnt the best made or painted, have a look at my build thread all pictures are in there mate.

Just waiting for another set of fairings from gtbishop should have them by start of next month so will get some pics up of them ones aswell

Just looked at the pictures of the fairings you got mate, that is awefull i would of sent them back and got a refund to be honest, cant believe they have put the front light surrounds on the nose cone and just painted over them.

I would be playing hell with them and getting a full refund lol but thats just me i like things perfect :D

The surrounds are actually "merged" as one piece with the cone :(

I would certainly bring the issues to their attention. But besides the rushed job, the gloss *is* however pretty darn good, and the general colour cloning they have done a good job of. It's just the engrish that is not quite up to scratch by too wide a margin.

WRT tax, Parcel Force these days don't release the item until the tax is paid, so there's not a lot I can do.

Anyway, I am glad that I had asked them to do a simple paint job. I was originally going to ask them if they could do this:

Still looking good despite the obvious problems. Damn shame as a bit more care they would be first class, especially for the money. The wonky "o" on the nose cone and spelling would do me in more than anything. I would get a gel sticker printed up with the same text and with a white backround to cover these and it would look ok, being a gel sticker it would give that accessory look and not look out of place.

Well... I had actually sent them quite a number of high resolution photos, so they were just copying them over.

Granted, I had sent them a photo of a clone which had the CBR250 decals on, hence the wrong blurb on either side for the 400, but they could have at least copied the 250 correctly, and lined up the HONDA straight? :|

Thanks & +1. What I had in mind exactly. I will get in touch with some clever peoples that do vinyl work, and the wonky O I can cover up with a race number of some sort, so all is not lost. Actually the CBR on the tail pods are in the wrong font as well, but I'll turn a blind eye for now...

The blue triangles do have some masking tape mark, ie taped up poorly. They still look the part but is mildly irksome.

I am not going to negotiate a full refund, but I will demand some money back, especially now that they have not delivered on the "freebies", namely the fairing bolts, and a scratched up screen of rather inferior quality. It actually feels like thick lexan - there is a certain brittleness to it. I have a screen from "neverland-gbp" which seems a lot more robust. £16 for a tinted double bubble, can't fault that.

But what really does bother me is the white. They had agreed to do it in pearl but now it's tippex white, or, i-Pod white. Grr. Wouldn't have been so bad if they had not agreed to it. I know I *need* to have the tank sprayed anyway (due to age), but this is not what I had planned on doing - to switch from the Honda pearl to ... B&Q Brilliant White.

The flip side is that they had still done a stellar job at copying over the triangles and the gold trim. So I have just got to decide:

1. How much do I demand back, how much to expect I can get back realistically? Bearing in mind that what they have sent me has faults etc, I can moan to PayPal of false advertising on their part, and I recon I will win. Deciding on how to negotiate with them is my priority for now.

2. Will I accept discount if they offer me one for a second set, "promising" (LOL, talk is cheap!) to fix the mistakes? - No.

Hearing how Petrolhead and others have had panels blown off, I am quite seriously considering setting aside the money for the carbon fairings. Monetarily they are 3x the money, but are they going to be 3x the fairings? I think so!!

Hi, regarding your decals, you can get gel coated as an extra at imageworks, just tell them the size and colours, Just make the Honda front nose decal a tad bigger than it is now and it will cover fine, make it as a complete decal rather than seperate letters. When I first bought my bike the front paint looked as though a sandblaster had hit them so I asked Imageworks to make some gel decals to cover the original, got to say they got them spot on and everyone thought it looked good and was a great idea as it did not look like I had plonked a sticker on top of a sticker, due to its 3d effect. Here is a pic, its the front orange flashes on the nose cone.

Why would panels blow off? Surely they are mounted as originals, with the same mounting points? very strange although petrolhead does say he cracked his, this may have a bearing.

Yeah my fairings blew off due to a fualt of my own, i tried to get the bike over a high door step and the bike fell forward and hit the fairings on the step and cracked the lugs, so repaired them with plastex but it didnt hold lol.
