When I opened the thread on my work computer they were 1052mm wide ... still only 500kb though.
They seem to be back to normal now

We'll i decided to jump on the band wagon a bit with this. Seen FZRTIMS efforts on the PBforum, which got me thinking and now a few more people have started.

I brought a crashed 3tj about a year ago with the intention of doing some trackdays etc but so far it has sat in pretty much the same state in the garage. Today a crashed 600 was delivered to the same garage, minus front forks and fairings as they were long gone.

As Alex says, "And so the project begins...."

Looks like it will be a fun couple of months in the garage!!

Nice one. Prepare to amaze/ embarrass bigger, newer, more expensive bikes on the track. Wicked track tool!

I could do with a couple of your now infamous engine mount brackets. i'll pm you shortly.

Just realised it has been a while since I updated this thread! I have done a fair bit, honest...

Engine is in, so carbs went on next just to try the fit.





They're higher than the 400 carbs, obviously, but still fit under the tank. Tried putting on the 400 airbox on, the holes line up but they are a bit too small. It fitted perfectly after a bit of a dremel attack! Unfortunately, it does not fit under the tank.

Plan B, fit some pod filters and leave the airbox as a winter project!



That's it for the photos, but I have also fitted the 600 loom and electrics. The only 400 electrics that will be used are the coils ('cos they fit the existing brackets on the frame and the 600s don't!) and the fuel pump ('cos the 600 has the pump in the tank) and those parts of the loom have been modified.

I also picked up a full Micron system from ebay fo £87, so that is on but needs to be modified so that the silencer can be mounted to the rear mount.

All that's left to do until she starts is the cooling system, hopefully this Friday but who knows...

Then the cosmetics and suspension....

still never mind it should be ok with the pod filters as long as you get the carbs jetted to suit.

Is SHOULD be alright as the foxeye does not have a pressurised airbox like the thundercat, it is remarkably similar to the 400 airbox, just bigger!

I missed out on a dynojet kit for about 35 quid on ebay a few weeks ago, just before I realised that one would be really useful...

One thing I have noticed though, there are a lot of part numbers on the 600 that start 3TJ.

alex i bought factory pro jet kit off e-bay last week new for 50 quid i think it was straightline racing having a clear out,with the factory pro stuff you dont have to drill the throttle bodies.you get titanium needles some jets and a few other bits plus their website has an extensive guide to setting up cv carbs.i will try and post a link in this post -here it is http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtun.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you could try them as they may have another for the 600 foxeye their no is 01553 772774-steve
