I never found a suitable place to supply the perspex so gave up and made some from a clear type of perspex.

If you wanna search the colour you need is acid green ;)

how easy isit to cut perspex? im not to sure wots the best colour know? how easy isit to fix the perspex i gather u have to pop rivet the perspex to the fairing?

The fairing has a curve to it, so if you get a flat sheet you will have to contour it with a heat gun.

A band saw will cut it like butter - jigsaws work too, but tend to chip the edges slightly. Polish the edges carefully on a hard polishing mop (bench grinder) to give a nice finish, or sand it and finish on 1200 grit wet. A heat gun will do the job for bending, but otherwise just use an oven set to low and then cool in cold water to keep the shape.

The stuff i used wasnt actually perspex, the name of it escapes me at the moment but i found the stuff whilst browsing through a site called speedzilla which im think is mainly american. There were a few guys on there making endurance nose cones for different bikes and they were all using this stuff for lenses. It comes in different thicknesses and i got the 1mm stuff which can be cut using decent scissors. I'll see if i can find it for you but if you do find a supplier of acid green perspex that doesnt want £300 for a massize sheet of it let me know ;)

Very nice find!

You can also cut up those fluoro perspex clipboards that you can buy cheaply at office supply shops and come in 4 or 5 different colours :peace:
