It's not so much of a belting shock, it's more of a surge of electricity, enough to send tingles up and down my hands and forearms.
Either way the fairings are coming off this weekend and i'll check the whole loom over :)

Found out one of the HT leads had come apart and was arcing on to the engine, all seems fine now and i haven't had any repeat of the previous mentioned problems, so happy with this 18 year old bike :)
