Reg/Rec off an R6 just arrived in the post, its throwing it down with rain outside so its a good job i have a garage.

Might actually get to ride it making the proper power this weekend !!!

Would pulling out the rev counter sensor lower its power or are they just naturally slow ?!?

What do you mean by naturally slow?

There a V4 so they dont' scream like an I4 does. There also quite smooth throughout the rev-range.

Depending on what your comparing it to there not a slow bike though.

You'll match an NC30 no problem. Although depending on road the gearboxes are different.

0-60 < 5s

Sounds like you might need to visit the dyno operator now you have it running to get the fuelling sorted out, they'll soon be able to tell you if your have and issues.

I'm probably biased, my last bike was a CBR600 F-M with 100 BHP which weighed about 205KG, i'm probably asking too much of the 400 engine tbh.

I think this one is going to be sold on. Bit of a bugger when i have spent so much time and effort on it. Might go back to a 2 stroke.

Ah yes.. maybe you are.

The CBR600 is one of my favourite bikes to ride :-) Very forgiving and oodles of fun.

Where are you finding the VFR slow when comparing it to the CBR?

And if your after a 400 have you considered a Kawasaki ZXR?

The VFR doesn't have the straight line acceleration.

Having tried this 400cc with 60 BHP and with all 400's being about the same i think i need to trade up for more power or down for less weight. I think i have been teased by a CBR600 and an R6 (a while ago) and its just not enough ponies.

The VFR is a bit low for me as well, im 6 foot tall and the (very low) bike feels like it carries all its weight pretty high, that's not even with a full tank of fuel.

I dunno. Bit gutted tbh.

My NC30s are both miles faster the the 24 I have but saying that the 24 is no slouch. It can get a hurry on if you abuse it!

We had a member here who was talking the talk but when it came to walking the walk he had a bike with 40 something bhp... No wonder it was slow!

That bike was an NC30

You should keep up fairly well with most 600's till you get to about 60mph +

Maybe your just expecting too much :S *shrug*

They are a bit small for a tall person tho :D

Oh and finally.. I agree with Mark, get a dyno run on it and see where you stand!

Incorrect carbs / etc will buggar up accelleration
