Re: my 2tk wont rev up
Can't think of anything other than it being 180 deg out on the timing ... but then it wouldn't start just pop and bang.
Fuel filter blocked ??? - it would run then stop as the fuel wouldn't get to the carbs.
Fuel Pump ??? - much the same as above but you wouldn't hear the ticking when you turned the ignition on.
EXUP - did you try disconnecting the cables ???

Re: my 2tk wont rev up
Pump is working spot on & delivering fuel, different carbs put on just in case it was the carbs fault but no, same symptoms, actually forgot about the exup cables, but it goes thru the "motions" freely when ignition is switched on & nothing seized.
Pray its timing now

Disconect the exup - it will alter the back presure ... worth a try my 3en2 wouldn't run with the exup it felt like it was strangled and like yours eventually it just wouldn't go at all.

Re: my 2tk wont rev up
nope just disconect them - put some tape on one of them so you know where it goes. Check the cables aren't worn too.
You'll hear the exup flapping a bit but it'll be ok.

Re: my 2tk wont rev up
fixed fixed fixed fixed, she runs fantastic now she really is a sweet sounding motor!!!.
two things, firstly (which I dont think had a significant impact on it not running), I reset the pilot mixture screws to 3 1/2 turns out from 2 turns out, the reason I dont think this stopped it starting is becasuse it ran the last time it was laid up & it had loads of chances to start when I kept pouring easy start & petrol thru the chokes.
Now then, and this is where Boris came in, the exup valve.
With the cables connected I could see the servo going thru the twirling motion, what I didnt realise was it was just stretching the loose cables, the actual exup was seized. I took the silencer off I shone a torch down the pipe & noticed the valve was shut & surrounded with loads & loads of water. (bike had stood 2 years). I gripped the exup valve with a pair of stilsons & managed to turn it to completly the other end of its travel but it was nearly seized. Turned the key, pressed the starter & she was away like it had never stopped running, absolutly superb runner. I guess it was just strangled & couldnt fire up enough to clear itself. Now the next job is to strip the valve down.
