Did you buy engine with overbore kit?

Yes,I have 2 with 1mm overbore. One only makes 69 brake, but it has more torque than any I have seen before.I bought the carbs, airbox and exhaust.Rlr claimed 78 and the bike was definatley fast.Sams dad was knocked off at Mallory and wrote the bike off,so they broke it.The exhaust was made from R6 headers, and the airbox is huge.

I'm going to buy second one. Unfortunately, pistons was sold already. Ricky Leddy didn't find specification for any of this NC29 engines, but wrote that "...THAT ALL OUR NC29 ENGINES MAKE 70 -78BHP PENDING ON SPEC...". So, 78bhp is very good.
Do they use FCR or CV carbs? And what is main jet\needles set up for this? And are there HRC airbox?
Will be appreciate any pictures...

Its on flatslides, the airbox looks home made.It fills all the space under the tank, and the screen is at the front. I dont think 1mm is going to get you up to 78,its all the other things, thats why I bought it all. I have a mint 94 standard engine to rebuild,as well as my other 2 race engines,I thought it was cheap information if it gets you that power. My other 1mm engine was done by Dave East engineering,I havent had that to bits yet either, but I was told when I bought it that the pistons were Yamaha, with remachined tops.

Than answer about pistons from Rick.
WE HAVE NEVER USED PISTONS FROM A YAMAHA, THE PISTONS WE USED ARE ONE OFFS MACHINED FROM BILLET,
AS FAR AS I KNOW YOU WILL NOT GET YAMAHA PISTONS TO FIT AS THE VALVE ANGLE IS WRONG, AND THE PISTON PIN IS TO BIG
Could you make airbox picture? Maybe with comparison of stock one. I'm not expect to get 70bhp just for this engine - thinking to fit full exhaust (HRC + tyga maggot), as for the carbs not sure as for now - maybe will try to jet mine, check on dyne and see... Airbox is the question for know... If you wouldn't need something let me know - maybe I'll take this...

I said the other engine I have is supposed to have Yamaha pistons in,it wasnt done by Rick.It is still fresh as we took it to the Manx as a spare and didnt use it.I havent had the top off,all it has done is two races at Scarborough a couple of years ago.The rider came off a 250 at the north west and sold the 400 to me. I still have the spec sheet,it says 1mm oversize, kent cams, flowed head.It ran 70 bhp,but really good torque.I dont want to strip it yet as it is hardly used.I will have a look in the RLr one,but I want to put all the bits in my chassis and dyno it first. The Airbox came off Ricks TT bike.

I bought the pistons as well,as he said they came from america they could be G force. When I get a bit more done I will post some pics of the new bike as it goes together.

Well what I meant about that 1mm being illlegal was specific to the NC29 or any other 400cc Honda for that matter. Most clubs you will probably find allow 1mm over size in F400 (& yep that is about 415cc). The problem you have & this is why its cheating to use an NC29 or Honda 400 in F400 is because if you read the ACU handbook the rules state specific to F400 in addition to the basic race regs is.
1,Moulded treaded tyres
2, standard carburation
3, Rebores allowed to Maximum manufacturers Over size
Think theres another one to go on there but cant think of it off the top of my head. So in a nutshell because Honda DONT do an over size piston for any of the NC30,NC35,NC23,& NC29s if you use an engine with NON Genuine pistons in of 1mm over size you would in fact be cheating.
If you see what I mean.
