What does a quick shifter and a slipper clutch do? I am new to this is it worth having?

Slipper clutch - the plates grip each other in one direction (eg when accelerating) but are allowed to slip against each other in the opposite direction (eg when downshifting). This eliminates unwanted engine braking.
Quick shifter - allows for smooth (and fast) clutchless gear changes thus eliminating loss of momentum.
But I think someone else could explain better...

Well put.
I'd probably go for the "if you have to ask you don't need them"
