Fairings from China/Hong Kong

I bought these fairings from paul (CRM) as a stop gap until i get my panels painted, paul will have to fill you in on the seller but there from one of the many chinese ebay lot. TBH im quite impressed with them, they came well packaged with plenty of protection, the design is very close to the original and so are the colours used. Finish on the backs of the panels is a little shoddy and the mounting lugs are not as the OEM panels but the actual panels are sturdy enough albeit again not upto to OEM quality, these are circa £300 panels though which i think i bloody good.








The paint looks a little thin in places but nothing to worry about, lets not forget all the stripes are painted on theres no decals apart from the honda logos, that kind of paintjob would cost quite a bit here in the UK. Even the number board is done in satin just like the OEM panels rather than the gloss black most sellers seems to go for.

As for fitting, well thats where the fairytale ends, ive only attempted the seat panels so far and there diabolical. Be under no illusion you can just buy and fit these panels, some knowledge and a lot of time will be needed in order to get these fitting right and i dare say the lugs will need chopping and re-fixing to. I'll do a more detailed write up on the fitting when ive spent more time on them.

Well the seat unit panels needed the holes opening up to fit over the mounts that the riders seat bolts to but still didn't fit that well leaving a gap down the middle and the H piece just flapped about loosely,

I decided best option was to make the 3 pieces into a 1 piece unit and made some small ally plates to rivet the 2 side panels together in 3 places that will be hidden once the seats are on, the H piece was then bonded in place as best as it would fit.



The front end wasn't to bad yet every panel needed some dremel work to line up, the v piece being the worse which needed quite a bit trimmed off but the whole lot took no longer than half a day. Panel gaps and fit isn't brilliant but its ok from 2 paces away so for the money im happy, it will all come off for the insides to be painted black.

Any body have a link for Type 4 fairings i'm tired of mine being damaged and scuffed from the previous owner looking to replace them so I can repair the originals for storage.

There's always going to be fitment issues with them patience is the key normally the mid panels don't line up very well at the top cowl and the tail section H is a poor fit but can be overcome if you look back through the previous posts.

Is your clock/headlamp stay straight? Are the lights positioned correctly? Screen brace twisted maybe.

Cheers for the reply. Yes that is the problem. Mid panels are sat to far forward. So a few adjustments should make it sit beytet thanks

They do look really good. I think a lot of people would be willing to pay that bit extra more for better quality oem-esque bodywork.
