Carbs look mint but might benefit from some dry ice and lazers. ;)
Seriously though, nice work man.
Ah, that explains it! The whole time I was working the loom kept jumping up and shouting "I'M TOO ZEXY!!!!!!!"

Did some work on the exhaust yesterday. The inside diameter of the race can is smaller than the stock one where it attaches to the exhaust flange. There are two layers of exhaust flanges on the stock header pipe and I had to remove the outer one which is welded to the flat part. A little hacksaw and some grinder work and it's gone. The 3 bolt mounting pattern is slightly different as well on the "Top Secret HRC" race can and if you look at the first pic you can see black Sharpie pen where I have to grind out the holes to make them slightly oblongated. Since the inside diameter is smaller the stock exhaust ring didn't fit either so I had to take out about a 1/2 inch section to close the ring down. It looked like a solid structure until I cut into it and realized it's actually several rings of different materials. I'll line up the split in the ring next to one of the exhaust flange bolts just in case there is any slight blow by. Also been cleaning up the exhaust pipes with the wire wheel and bench grinder. Took about an hour to do this one piece. Cheers!

So, as I have ruined a few good t-shirts from dirt and debris thrown off the wheels on the bench grinder, I ask the wife if she has an old apron or schmock lying around I could use. She says maybe. So I arrive home tonight to see this sitting on my desk!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?! :o I yell at her "What am I f@#*ing gay?!" I said, unless I get the girl in the picture too you better take it back.

Slow day at the office today, the dog days of summer. Cleaning out my desk drawer I found an old pic of my RC-30, that I somehow managed to part ways with. Did I ever mention I was an idiot?!

You wont make the same mistake with the RVF will you? Especially after all the beautiful work you're doing. 8-)

Nah, the wife is a keeper, she lets me fullfill my crazy moto-dreams. Gotta keep her around for the occasional Sunday ride, right? Oh? You were talking about the RVF! Sorry. ;)

Todays daily bike porn...........................................

I must say at this point I really have NO plan. I just walk out into the garage and open a box or two and start working on something. I think what I am working towards is to get the frame over the motor so I can start bolting things on as I go. I installed the carbs on the motor today and the rear exhaust manifold which is hard enough out of the frame I can only imagine tackling this with the motor in the bike. Cleaned, rebuilt the T-Stat housing with all new parts (T-stat, O-rings, temp. sender, top cover). Alloy fuel filter just in case I missed some rust or crap in the tank. Next???????????

Good job. This is coming together quite quickly, although there is no nee for the fuel filet as there is one in the tap.

Ace work as usual Jeff, and as viper says the tap filter will be sufficient and an additional one may mess up your fueling. Fastest super rebuild ever too, might get some pics of mine together and running in about thirty years if I'm still around, whatever brand of coffee you drink I think I need a couple of kilos. Keep it up amigo. :)
