Just make sure it's not a cheapo Chinese g-clamp. I broke one trying to press a piston back into a caliper!

nope i bought it from HIS up here in inverness top quality stuff....i managed to push the piston back in, i reinserted the other piston, i bled the system completely, and i pumped the pedal. and.... no movement on the stuck piston what soever, i noticed the fluid in the master cylinder starts to bubble whenever i push the pedal.

so this didnt work either... there is really not much i can do is there? other than to buy a second hand fully working one.

If the fluid in the M/C is bubbling you definatly havnt bled it properly, if you have managed to push it back in with a g clamp then it will definatly come out with the hydraulic pressure of a system thats bled properly.

Hi, yeah have another go at bleeding it, bike brakes are, or can be a comlpete twat to bleed and get enough air out to pump a siezed piston out, I've spent more hours bleeding blood brakes than i'd i'd like to admit. But at least the piston moved, only other way of getting them out that i've heard of, is with a grease gun on the bleed nipple, tho i never seen it done!

i bled the system for ages, i made sure of it, there was no air bubbles flowing through the hose at the bleed nipple. and i topped up the M/C 8 times while bleeding. i am using an aftermarket M/C as well. ive made a video on what it does when i press the pedal i will upload it in a second.

its clearly drawing air into it from somewhere..

I wrote this up before but must have forgot to post it as a reply to my earlier reply on page 9.

You dont need force to put the pistons back in but they do need to be square otherwise you wont get them in easily. Coat them with rubber grease.

The master cylinder sounds like its leaking if its not pushing the pistons out, this is probably why your brake was crap to being with.

how can i coat it with rubber grease if it cant get it out? my rear brake was crap all the time, even when i had a different M/C before i changed it. these pistons have been in there for a while and never been looked after by previous owner. like i said before, one piston comes out no bother, but the other one doesnt move at all.

Dont you have those cheapt chinese ebay rearsers including the master cylinder with it?

Don't blame the previous owner.
It is up to any owner past or present to look after their machine......
