Can I get in line for those HRC carbs?

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
So a few more parts have arrived over the last few days.

Some nice dual carbon pads to suit the PFM discs, just need to get my headstock stand back from my old man before I can fit the discs and get the pads scrubbed in.

RVF shock linkage ready to go on, anyone know the dimensions so I can confirm I have the right linkage?

Got busy with the dremel to HRC my sprocket cover, looks proper messy but I'll tidy it up before I fit it, anyone know if I need the bottom fixing or can I remove that too?
I'm hoping to get the rvf linkage and discs fitted and take the bike out for a ride before the weather turns and I start to work on it properly for the winter.

Are you keeping the jha system on it for track?

Nah that's coming off and a genuine HRC system will be going on, I did want to use it but couldn't risk damaging those lovely Kevlar cans.

Length of the rvf link is 108 mm centre-to-centre.VFRkieran wrote: RVF shock linkage ready to go on, anyone know the dimensions so I can confirm I have the right linkage?
The hrc f3 manual shows it removed, but as long as you can get a sprocket on and off like it is I wouldn't worry too much.Got busy with the dremel to HRC my sprocket cover, looks proper messy but I'll tidy it up before I fit it, anyone know if I need the bottom fixing or can I remove that too?

Kieran,VFRkieran wrote:No not yet I had planned to make you an offer on the bits you have for sale, but I think HRC carbs with all the other mods I'm doing will put me over 64bhp and rule me out of a few races, however I am going to setup one of my spare sets of carbs to HRC spec just to use then if I enter any races where there is no limit, so if you don't sell yours I'll give you a shout mate.
You’ll be fine with HRC carbs and a full system plus cleaned up inlets, Bemsee use a Dynapro dyno rather than a dynojet dyno, so it reads a lot more accurately and gives a far truer hp reading than a dynojet dyno.
I was speaking to a lad who races minitwins with bemsee, they have a 72bhp class limit but they all aim for about 77bhp (I think it was 77, as I don’t race minitwins I wasn’t really paying full attention) on a dynojet dyno as that is 72bhp ish on a dynapro dyno.
I run HRC carbs full micron 4-1 system and cleaned up and knife edged ports and I’m safe on the dynapro dyno, it was making 63BHP on the dynojet dyno before I added the hrc carbs, not had it back to the dynojet dyno since they went on. But it’s been on the bemsee dyno at least twice at two different rounds and was under the 64 class limit. Although the last time it was on the operator said it could be smoothed out a lot.
They don’t tell you what it makes they will only say if you have passed or failed.

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
@ Cam, thanks for that mate will get it measured up later on and get it fitted if it's correct.
Think I'll get the hacksaw out and whip that unneeded bottom mount off if it's not needed.
@ hodge that's brilliant I didn't realise there would be such a difference in the dyno, think I will try and get a set of HRC carbs set up too so I can use them, I've heard how much of a nightmare it can be to set them up right but I'm actually looking forward to it! Got to be next month before I buy the bits though as I've spent enough cash for one month :p
Thanks again guys great help.

It's not hard at all mate, most peeps that run into issues don't use all the necessary parts.VFRkieran wrote:think I will try and get a set of HRC carbs set up too so I can use them, I've heard how much of a nightmare it can be to set them up right but I'm actually looking forward to it!
This is a good base setting to start with:
145 main jets
40 pilot jets
8zf needles with 1 x 0.5 mm shim
hrc velocity stacks
pilot screw will be between 1.5 - 2.0 turns out, might need to experiment with this a bit
This is a good safe setting to start with, erring on the side of being slightly rich rather than too lean.
Make sure you have the hrc fuel tap mod done, the standard tap setup won't flow enough fuel on long straights with bigger main jets fitted.

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
Thats good to know, will go with that base setting and take the bike up the old runway to fine tune the setup, had allways planned to use all the neccesary bits so hopefully i wont struggle too much with it.
Have got a spare tap that i will mod HRC style when the time comes so no fuel starvation for me!
