Mark

Just dicovered this thread and what an awsome read. i always thought No9 was so named as it was your 9th NC30 lol.

That track day back in 2006 was Soooo cooool. Camping, beers, BBQs and sunshine all weekend 8-) (Do you remeber Tim (IFTNFS) tinkering with his bike in the padock then riding of without refitting the oil filler cap and filling his boot up with fresh oil - Oh how we laughed  )

Keep the updates comming mate as this is going to become a must read thread.

Long live No9 :worthy:

@ Ian - aye, This was my first ever motorbike..and will be my last too, I am sure.

That Cadwell sessions was amazing. We need another one to get the guys together, get some on track, get some camping and a good crack. I saw Tim not long back - he is a top chap, one of a kind.

So - snow outside.might be getting into the garage, strip the side cases and see if I can get the clutch and genny off without going to buy a rattle gun. (which I want anyways) Will clean that up and go from there.

The bike deserves a wee pic, I'll get one..you can see how sad it feels in the garage right now!

Right then..seeing as we have a TD to be getting ready for I want some advice, bits and bobs..lol

1: I need to remove the clutch and genny out my dead engine - it is on the bench. Am I going to have to use something very hard and nasty to lock the clutch up so I can undo the nut? Same for the genny?

Any advice about removing these without the rest of the bike being attached?

Second - I want some rearsets to either buy, for cheap, or borrow for the TD! Std ones are gay and drag too much.

Third - Anyone want to buy the Mille so I can have some room in my garage?

A proper tool for the genny makes it dead easy to remove on the bench, Timon made one a while back and it works a treat, it will require some welding skills though. I was going to do the same for the clutch by welding a bar to a old clutch plate, its a ballache having to have the engine in situ for this if you dont have the tools although i seem to remember doing a clutch in the past by jamming a tie down strap in the cogs :o

Removed the clutch from my spare RVF engine by jamming the gear with a piece of rag to get the nut off, wasnt ideal tbh but worked ok, havent tried anything with the alternator yet though.
