Hi there Jason. It´s been 3 years since my last visit, and it is a real joy to see most of you are still hanging around. Some days ago dropped by forum and caught the nc fever...Hours reading build up threads...Started unboxing my nc spares, disasembled a couple carbs, got grease to my elbows. Even went back to Ye Old Forum, amazing technical stuff back there. I wish I had as much time as a couple of years ago, I really miss you all.
I am glad to see Drunkn Tony still lives IN the forum.
Keep it up mates.
And happy trails to the Alps!!

Hi Emilio,

Thanks mate! Yes, I am still here but not that often compared to previous years due to other commitments, gf and what my life brings these days besides work  Still got my 2 NC35s and luv it. Never bought another bike other than thinking about to buy one some day...but with the new modern bikes these days I really do not have any idea what I would choose from.

Alps, yeah! I will depart with a friend both on bikes to the Alps next week for five days, first day 700kms for us. Two other friends will depart same day early morning from Barcalona and drive +1000 kms to Switzerland in one go so we all meet in the evening at another friend of us who lives in Swiss (he hired a honda nc700x abs for this trip in his "home" country since he is bike-less after emigration). The others on Duc M696 and GSXR-750 and ZZR600. I ride my NC35.

By the way, I was in Barcalona last month and I am informed locally that there is a place who has multiple 250/400s for sale (fresh imports from Japan), they also consult in special racing machines (moto1 and 2, 125s, 250s and more). Check gpmotorbikes.com for more info.

Fitted the wheels and new bt090s on saturday and also fitted the other usd forks with hyperpro springs + 20w grade fork oil as per instructions.

And at end of this week I will collect a new suspension Nc35 kit at hyperpro HQ in Werkendam. Took the plunge and ordered a new custom rear shock + front spring kit. Will try to get some pics during the instructions and walk around in the shop and warehouse :geek:

Collected my shock and springs kit (streetbox) today at HQ of hyperpro. Sadly no pictures of the warehouse and workshop. One of the staff members John helped me all the way the initial process of advice, ordering, status production of the rear shock including the set-up and settings. I will fit the rear shock myself later this weekend and will test-try some settings. I am always welcome to take the RVF to their shop so they can advice best. I choose for the emulsion rear shock. If not enough settings available I always can take this shock back to them to tune-up into a full race shock spec ;) First try this emulsion rear shock before I spend more cash.

Here is the kit (rear shock is based on their NC30 spec, only a couple of custom adjustments to my wishes for my Nc35):

Yes, progressive since most of the mileage I do is on the road. Next week to the Alps I expect some +3000kms. For track use I would opt for linear. I used their springs before and rate them very good. On my old NC30 I used the RS250 rear shock mod and resprung with their progressive spring and combined it with RO front spring kit which is linear. I miss that feeling, handling and me old bike.

Can I be so rude as to ask the £££££ ?

The hyper pro units I have where close to £600 but that was nearly 10 years ago I got them.

Close to £500 mark for the street kit as is. I will opt for the next option to tuned up the current rear suspension unit into a higher spec'd race unit this autumn and comes with remote reservoir (high/low) and that's tops near £660.

Already back 1.5 wks from a great trip in the Alps with four friends. What a great ride and really enjoyed it on the rvf  In the 5 days I covered 2216kms with a to me superb fuel economy of 1ltr to near 20.0kms during the whole trip (my last trip in 2008 the fuel economy was poorer with 1ltr to 15.5kms). The power pick up from low rev and midrange was perfect. No issues on short corners or rich fuel/low air on higher altitudes. Suspension was great improvement over the previous set-up. Although I am thinking of tuning up the rear suspension unit at Hyperpro and convert this unit into a race unit for more adjustments. Just love this bike

Day of departure sept 4th (very light weight packed with only 2 tank bags, small in front of me on the tank, larger 15ltr on the rear pillion seat double strapped, tested it even on the autobahn in germany at +200km/h and stayed perfectly as is). Only long highway and autobahn to Basel, Switserland to gathering point at friends place. 2nd day did some 320kms improvised route (avoided highways due to toll/vignet) and rode via Neuchatel, Düdingen, Freibourg to Zweisimmen.

Day 3 at the start from our motohotel in Zweisimmen for another 350kms trip in the various Walds (Grindelwald, Oberwald etc.) and passes in the Alps

On top of Glaubenbüelen at 1565mtr...with great landscape view and fresh local swiss cheese plates for lunch...

On the 4th day we rode to the west to lake of Geneva, beautiful mountain passes, loved the cornering..and finally ended the intensive 1st part of the route at the lake in city Montreaux. After the lunch we said goodbye to two of our friends who continued their route via Southern France for another 2 days back to home in Barcalona Spain. We continued our way back to Basel for the night and continued our last part of the journey to home on Monday.

A very happy man

Already planning our next journey next year.

I'm not jealous at all!
I've covered about the same kilometers last July on my ER6, going from Portmouth to Santander and on to Portugal and then back the same way. That was very good indeed, but I still dream of riding out east, at least as far as Italy!

Got any videos of the mighty RVF on the twisties?
The scenery is supposed to be breathtaking! :peace:
