Dud carbi needle and seat is usually the cause of fuel flooding, mind you a functioning fuel tap stops fuel from flowing when the engine is not running. Time to pull the carbies and find out why the fuel continues to flow.

You need to check there isnt dirt or shit blocking the float pin that seals the carb.

They do wear though, so to fix it you need to buy a new float pin and seat.

Not cheap either. Maybe if you are on a limited budget a second hand set of carbs is the cheaper option

hmm okay, i was on ebay checking for carbs and the cheapest one is 50 quid... which is something i cannot afford right now. i have a vague image in my head that the float seat did not have its sealing washer... i JUST remembered that when i re-read the haynes manuals float height section. i think i might pop them back out and check to see if its got the sealing washer in there.

but if not, does anyone have a set of working carbs cheaper than ebay?

From the prices asked on eBay recently, I think £50 is not so bad!

damn it. im just so annoyed! there is always another problem arising, by itself without me doing anything. my carbs were fine and all of a sudden i come back from my holiday and it fucked itself up?? this is ridiculous, i try to crank the engine and now the rear left cylinder is making a screeching/squeaky noise, EVEN THOUGH its got the right amount of oil it in.... this bike is nothing but a self destruction money draining pile of shit. i know everyone here is saying these bikes are reliable, but im sorry, this is the most unreliable vehicle i have ever seen, known about and owned. i might even just totally give up and chuck this pile of shit in the bin!

i have! you dont seem to understand me, the bike is fucking up by itself, ive been away on holiday for the past 2 months and it was running before hand. and now im back. and the carbs are letting fuel into the cylinder, i didnt even do anything to the carbs.
