i checked everything is moving smooth including the choke etc..
reason being i think its the sparks because when i come to start it, it just sounds like it wants to catch and start but doesnt and once i spray easy start inside it does.. so i can get see it being the ecu or reg rec as it is perfect when the bike was put away. but i will change sparks as this will be a plus and it that still is flop ill think about a reg rec

Did you move the slides though? You need to reach into the carb mouths and use something to press them up, if they move easily they're fine, if they don't want to move or stick then there is a problem. Most of the time I've found a few flutters up and down and they slide smoothly but have needed some force the first time to move them.

If it was sparks it wouldn't start no matter how much easy start you use.

If the battery is charged then it'll still run (and rev) fine with the reg/rec being broken, obviously it wont run for as long but it will run. Might be an idea to disconnect the headlights so as to not drain the battery as much though.

ok so how do i check the slide take of tank air filter box anything else?

yep....remove tank,air filter housing and then you will see the 4 air pipes,inside them you will notice the slides.......this is what fastdruid is talking about. :D :D

Drain the carbs - fresh fuel in the tank - fit new plugs - manually fill the carbs by creating your own vacuum on the tap and off you go ... I hope !!

Plus a nicely charged battery will help.

I've just got an NC30 going sweetly again having been stood inside for 2 years full of fuel - one of our military members working away !!

I'm still here BTW now running France and Li Asia Trading .. all things Honda 400 still but now doing more and more 600s and progressing towards the wholesale bike hard parts import world.
