Re: Project 'Sleeper'
OK OK I can't keep it quiet anymore - I'm pretty excited at the thought of it really!
I have the frame forks, swingarm and subframe set up in my garage and will be fitting a race tuned SV650 engine - fuel injection type, for a track bike.
My mate races in the Bemsee minitwins (#38) and has/will be donating some spares to get started with - throttle bodies and engine for getting everything mounted correctly - this will eventually lead to a tuned motor of around 80bhp.
This is a long term project and won't be done over night! Mounting brackets will be manufactured properly by some other guys at work using aircraft grade billet ally
Feel free to ask questions, point things out, suggest alternatives or general chat about the project
I know this has been done before, and other engines have also been used, but we have chosen the SV 650 as its what my mate knows, its a twin which should fit, its not a massive amount more power so shouldn't be beyond the capabilities of the frame and swingarm but is delivered in a different way.
The bike will wear my track fairing hence the name of the project to catch people out!!
So there you have it!!

Re: Project 'Sleeper'
It might not have a lot more power, but it sure will have a lot more torque! Nice for getting out the corners quickly. Any chance of making a few more brackets while you are at it?

Re: Project 'Sleeper'
Excellent news Smev, a friend of mine also has a different take on which engine his Ducati fronted nc30 should have - again he is in the planning stages but it differs somewhat from your plans, but again he is hoping to gain torque over out and out power. Good luck and look forward to hearing of your progress.
Heres some inspiration from a guy from bay area riders.

Need any used Nc30 parts? Want to fit a Ducati front end to your Nc30? If so give me a shout.

Re: Project 'Sleeper'
Can't see the pics at work - but I'm guessing that the Bay area forum is the TRX850 engine? Saw that once before - Kinda inspiration for this project.
The tuned engine from the Sv is apparently quite reliable for about 80Bhp, there is a guy at PDQ the tuning place with one which is putting out 95!!
but I'm not looking for that
- yet!!
Cheers Smev
