Re: HOW DO YOU CLEAN A CHAIN (WITH O RINGS)
Ok tried wd40 and some scotchbrite, It worked ok, but not perfect as some rust was deeper than it looked at first, The problem is, the chain is on the bike with a riveted link so it's not easy to soak in something. I'll see if it can be lifted off the rear sprocket to lower it into a dish a bit then turning it every so often.
I've got a week or two yet anyway as the tank and panels are of getting painted. Just hope the cat and dog don't drink the vinegar. lol.

\That wee smilie can drink some Guinness. No wonder he's yellow.

Up to you .... as long as the chain runs free with no fused links it should be ok.
The Bim's chain came back rusty where the sprayers must of had it outside, I used parafin and a soft wire brush to take the worst off and left it alone.

Let us know how you get on with the vinegar,
its a cheap as chips in ASDA or the like, bigger bottle the better
oh it can be used to cure a tickle cough if you have the stomach for it, but dont use it for this after cleaning the bike chain,
and it doesnt work the other way either!! (cure your cough, piss, bikechain) cant kill two birds with one stone.

I'll just leave it as is now as the wd40 has worked well enough, I don't want to push any rust into the o.rings. I'll keep a close eye on it though.

Well the manual says to use kerosene to clean the chain. So that's what I use.
or did it say not to use it? Bugger cant remember
