Gazz, i'm afraid I can't really shed any light on what exactly it is, but the fact that it's smooth all the way around suggests that it's been floating around for some time. I'm thinking of pebbles on a beach. If I had to guess, i'd say it was some sort of packer from the clutch, but that's a wild guess.
