I would be looking at plugs.
These bikes are notorius for killing plugs off. Have a search for new plugs..you will find that a lot of the times we have an NC that refuses to play it is cured by plugs.
Stickshift knows his stuff - one of the Antipodean Old Skool with a lot of NC experience

rabutcher wrote:well i took the plugs out yesterday cleaned them and adjusted the gap. put them back in today, it started as soon as i hit the starter, ran for a bit then died and didn't start again, so new plugs on order.
definately seems to be the plugs, replace them and see what happens.

One problem i had was...
Bike would not start at all,
Took tank off, plugs out, spark all good, poured fuel through airbox, bike would run, tank on, bike run for a bit, tank off, etc..
The guy fitting the tank was putting the vacumn fuel pipe onto the wrong connection..
Should be connected to the 3 o'clock position on the tank, not the 6..
Connected bike to car via jump leads, fired up with loads of flames through exhaust..
